Robbed! Twice!

So some time in the early hours yesterday some sad-sack broke into my truck.
This isn't a new story, this apartment complex has been going downhill steadily over the years. As a result I never leave anything of value in the truck, so what it means is that they toss the contents of the console and glove-box all over the front seat, but don't take anything because none of it is worth anything.
However it does mean they tend to leave the glove-box and door open, which means the dome light and foot;lights are on, and it runs down the battery.
Usually, I used to just let MrHappy1987 know, and whenever he was free, he'd come over and jump the truck, and it'd be fine. But he works nights now, so that's not as convenient as it once was, so I called the towing company the complex uses to come and jump the truck. They charged me $60 for the guy to drive over, plug the jumper cables in, hook them up and have me start the truck.
I don't travel much so I don't have triple-A, but I'm thinking maybe I should!

What am I saying? We need to get you moved out and into your own house in a safer neighborhood.
Great to have at cons, great for your travel bag, or such emergencies as you experienced yesterday.
$50-60 depending on where you get them, mine also have a LED light, air compressor, and 5 volt USB charging port. (recharger built in, just plug into house AC)
In regards to the matter at hand: Sincerely sorry to hear that this happened and apparently gone for a while... Do hope that this isn't gonna keep happening to ya. x_x
(and yeah, portable battery charger, like they said)
AAA is also not a bad investment, and check your cellphone provider, too -- you may have an option with them that offers jump starts and towing for less. I know that Verizon has it for about $3 a month, which is usually lower than AAA's $60-ish a year.
Has a USB port too if I need to charge my phone.
I got AAA last spring. With the RV coverage added it still cost me less than $100 a year. Inside of a month I needed my Camper towed. It was 97 miles and the towtruck driver said it would have been a $500-$600 tow. My cost? Zero! I love AAA. They also save you 20% on labor at one of their approved repair shops.
Alternately, for $60, you probably can either find a battery charger you can use yourself, or a portable battery jump-starter affair, I would think.
Either way, that stinks.
If you'd rather go something cheaper, I recommend getting one of those battery starters from the auto section at walmart. Charge it, hook it up, jump your car. Store it at home.
And considering they're being inconsiderate enough to break into your vehicle, I think it's safe to say that thieves are going to be disinclined to give a shit if they close the doors behind them. :(
To be honest, I would get both AAA and the battery charger. If your battery draining is a constant thing, you can only use the AAA service so much. I am probably repeating things that people said before but heh. Also, can't you just turn off the dome-light?
I remember when $60 would get you a full service tow and a hand job.
