This is a random question and not really a journal. But how in the world do you shade in a picture? It seems insane to me but I know there's a trick to it but I can't seem to find an answer. I looked at so many tutorials but they're not helping me at all.

Prey Room info:
Currently, A told me that his list is full and he's busy with commissions. Don't worry, the comic WILL be made eventually but it'll take some time before he opens again. He also said he'll let me know when he's ready. Thank you for your patience.

I find it works to draw a line that follows the contours of the body, imagining where they would be in 3D space. It's hard, always is, but drawing and changing the line until you get something that looks decent works well enough for me. My advice is just start with simple shapes and look at 3D renderings to try to help visualize 3D shapes on a 2D surface.

Its hard to explain, since I am a noob artist, but you act like the light is shining at a certain angle and try to shade it to the contours of the body shape(s)

I think everyone kinda does it differently. But i'd recommend going to streams and see how they do it, and im sure they'd be happy to answer any questions too.
