The ignorant comments on this anti-furry petition...
So for those who don't know, there's a petition on Change.org to 'class all furry activities as zoophilia.' In its own right it's a completely idiotic petition and the supreme court would laugh the petitioners right out the front door, but recently the petition has started building up steam and gaining more signatures by the day. It's bad enough the fandom has this bad image of being 'animal fuckers,' but the fact that so many people seem to believe in it is even worse. There are even a couple admittedly funny comments from concerned soccer moms, but this could ultimately contribute to the fandom's already bad image. So if you guys see this, report the petition as abusive hate speech and upvote any sensible comments so they go to the top so people can understand that the furry fandom isn't about 'zoophilia.' Do try to be civil too, please.

To the people who think furries are gross or weird, why don't you have a problem with cosplayers in general? Why is there no outcry to stop women from dressing up as Twi'leks at Comic Con and to ban Comic Con? Don't lie, a lot of you think green skinned space babes are hot and have no problems with xenophilia, yet someone cosplays as Sly Cooper or Crash Bandicoot and you're quick to pull the 'furfag' card. You're all a bunch of ignorant hypocrites.
These 'furfags' have raised money for charities, gone to hospitals to cheer up children with cancer and other debilitating sicknesses, entertained at birthday parties, which is a lot more than any of you 'yiff in hell' hillbillies can claim to have done I bet. They don't have sexual attraction to animals or go home after a long day and fuck their pet poodle, the furry fandom has nothing to do with bestiality. Yes there are some who have sex while in costume or jerk it to art of anthropomorphic animals doing it. Those are anthros, not actual animals, and not all furries are like that. Many furries just grew up with shows like Thundercats and like the fantasy aspect of animals personified and being placed in human situations. Yes that does include some pornographic material, just like there's rule 34 art on the internet of Twi'leks and Cortana from Halo. It's a double edged sword.
If you're a parent and you're worried about your child being exposed to this sort of thing, stop being an idiot and learn how to turn on the parental controls for their smartphone. The best thng you can do, however, is let them discover it anyway and stop trying to shelter and coddle them, and then teach them why you believe it's wrong. If you shelter and coddle your kids they'll grow up to be socially awkward and get bullied in school because they'll be too innocent to know any better. I speak from experience.
The Furry fandom isn't doing anything to hurt you idiots other than existing, and the only reason you have a problem with them is because you have ignorant preconceptions of their culture based on bullshit you saw on CSI and Dr. Phil. They don't fuck animals, that isn't what 'Furry' means.
