Short rant incoming

I hate it when you try to apologize to someone for something so minute and yet, out of spite, they continue to act dick-ish towards you. I'm apologizing out of respect and yet I don't deserve anything back? Fuck that.
I'm quiet as I can be all week long. I try to do my best to respect my good friend and neighbor in the apartment under mine, but this house being as old as it is, is poorly insulated in spots and there is next to no soundproofing. You could hear a pin drop through this floor. I tiptoe when I get home from my ten hour a day work schedule so they can sleep. I keep my music down. I keep my pup from chewing his toys over the floor as that makes a ton of noise. I go OUT OF MY WAY to be respectful. Heaven fucking forbid I have one night to myself so my buddies and I can have some drinks and binge on Super Smash bros. Heaven forbid I have any sort of fun on a fucking Saturday. I'm getting really tired of going out of my way to not make things difficult for me or others.
Fuck me for making an effort I guess.

Honestly at this point, I'd welcome that. He hasn't had anyone else on this house for a while, so part of me gets it. The other part says no fuck this, I'm always living off to the side, in the shadows (batman) quietly and out of the way. I'm getting tired hun.....

So glad I don't live in apartments anymore. I'd flip my lid. Now I own a house in a subdivision and people can be equally aggravating. Just yesterday some dude was offroading a monster truck Jeep I'm the empty lots, behind my house. But I just ignored it bc it's not really worth fueding. Your situation is bad, tenant downstairs won't understand how hard it is to be quiet in those old buildings, I feel trying to talk it out will end in an episode of cops.

I grew up in a subdivision down the road form some anthestiologist who had a loud, old nasty jeep that had no exhaust so I feel your pain there. The shitty part about this is the neighbor downstairs has been a good friend of mine for many years. But he's just so hard headed and stubborn and spiteful when he wants to be. One of those always right types. Talking it out would do no good like you said.
