Okay so, I explored some more krita forums today, first eagerly reading about the upcoming comic features that sounded like something never done before.
Then I stumbled on drawing perspective... and I learned about features I had completely missed before.
BASICALLY
Step 1 - draw flat layout of a room / city
Step 2 - add vanishing points with ruler tool
Step 3 - transform your flat layout into perspective using accurate guide points
Step 4 - put assistant on
>> SKETCH PERSPECTIVE PERFECTLY
(as in, I didn't have to learn perspective myself after all, when the program already does it for me!)
I'll make a tutorial about this when I have time too, wooooh!

Will play with Krita later today or sometime and see how "new user" friendly it is. Surely cannot be as bad as Gimp of all arting programs, which took a good while to learn well.
Also check their resources for learning: https://docs.krita.org/Main_Page
That documentation looks really useful though and will help greatly. Bookmarked and will look over that later today.
I spent time reading and looking/testing things including the compared to SAI section over the weekend. However I found Krita still has one major flaw that many use for simplicity and convenience. Even after two years (June 2014) of this being added to the wishlist of features, it still does not support tablets in Mouse Mode. This is rather disappointing as Pen Mode is just both wear and tear for the tablet surface and misery for the wrist. Maybe someday it will be added, but SAI will suit well still for an learning art platform.
And if you use the pen in mouse mode, you lose things like tilt and rotation most likely, which are essential for some brushes. Sai doesn't support those in the first place tho.
