I haven't figured it out myself! But I don't play constantly, as much as I'd like to. I've just been getting up my crafting. xD I think my bf has been leveling his character with dungeons.

Yeah I am leveling a marauder, so I figured that'd be the way to do it

You first pick a class and level it to 50/60 via the main story quests, dungeons, and FATEs when required.
Once you've done that, all your other classes gain bonus EXP all the way to 50/60.
The 'fastest' ways to level combat classes are Dungeons and Fate grinding. (Though I hear that the Beast Tribe quests give a lot of EXP too.)
Leves are best for crafting classes.
Grinding Mining and Botanist are just nightmares.
On top of that there's Grand Company Provisioning that gives EXP for turning in the requested items for each craft/gather class.

i am a balmung resident myself! (character name Varien Furioso) also, as far as fast leveling, there is a neat little trick you can do to get to 15 or 20+ quickly with prettymuch any combat job, as long as you have a whitemage or astrologian friend... and... well.. i am 60 on both of those ^^;

get 3 other friends and dungeon forever.

1) Unlock and try to use the challange log at as much you can, those every goal will grant you a good amount of exp
Challange log:
3 duty roulette
5 Dungeon
3 and then 10 guildhest
5 different pattern Levquest
20 Levquest
5 gold in a fate in different region
10 fates done
(for gather / crafter you can do the one in the DoL / DoH too, lev quest count for this too)

If you are leveling up a healer or a tank the best way is spam dungeons
For dps dungeons still good but some time you can check the PF and enter / build up a fate grind party

Now with 3.2 and the novice hall you'll get a nice ring who will give +30% til level 30 (work for all the classes under that level)

depends on the class you play. if your on tank/healer, then constantly que for dungeons. if you are playing dps however, que up for a dungeon and fate during the wait period since its so long. i reccomend fating in a region that already has a few parties there fating. an alternative is to find someone that is leveling a tank/healer and just dungeon grind. also make sure you are eating some kind of food for that 3% exp buff. being in an FC with Heat of Battle up is also very helpful

Queue for instances constantly, cream through the challenge log and fill the gap with FATEs.

Challenge log , i discovered this thing when i almost maxed my level,i regret it.

When it comes to Culinary (and, I assume, Smithing/Armorcraft and other crafting skills), once you hit Lv10, you can "Quick Synthesis", which lets you select to automatically craft as the same recipe as many times as you can, as long as you have the ingredients. Saves clicking loads of times. Buying such ingredients in bulk can get expensive though. If you're find with that, it's a nice was to just let it get on with itself.

Wouldn´t quite recommend that, though, as quicksynth gives significantly less exp.
Just a waste of materials imho.
For crafters, I´d recommend, that you go find out, what you´ll be able to hand in to levequests, that are just a bit above your level, but require something you can already make.
Now grind said 'something' for as long as your gathered material/money/patience allows.
Ideally, by that point, you can hand in the leve and ideally, you should be able to do spam that, due to making a bunch of the required thing.
If that works out the way it did for me, you should be able to repeat the whole process, just for the next bracket of leves.
That way I got them to 50 rather quick. (From 50 to 60, is quite a bit messier and more annoying, though.)

Oh... And for combat classes, do your hunting log. Filling each page not only gives combat exp, but bonus exp per monster set hunted AND a massive amount per page completed.

I only just started playing the other day, and I'm always looking for fast ways to level too :3

If it's your first class, just follow the story. Nearly all content is locked by story progression and the story will always lead you to areas where the sidequests are the right level for you. If it's your second class on one character, dungeons, guildleves and FATEs are your best option.

I'd offer to help you level as I have guided a few classes to 50/60 but I'm on leviathan

My big suggestion is dungeons if you are leaving marauder and plan to go warrior then you'll basically instant queue as you are a tank, I levelled lancer/dragoon and the wait items for dungeons was brutally painful...still kind of is

Yeah, as others have said already:

1-15: Hunting Log and FATEs
16-60: Dungeons

Dungeon exp is by far the best.

Come to think of it, I have never played/beaten FF games before without gameshark or cheat lol!
I only played till 8 tho, those later ones were crap to me.
