Went and saw Zootopia. First film in awhile to have a "Furry" feel to it. Though it was only 60% humanized, I still liked the look of it and it's character design. I was also surprised to find a story about prejudice and personal bias, and how it can blind you to the truth and stop you from befriending good people.
I loved Judy Hopps character. She was so adorable, and it was hard not to get caught up into her enthusiasm. It was also interesting to see a character be the object of prejudice, realize she carried some as well. When she comes to the realization it is a great scene among many in the film.
Nick Wilde is her perfect opposite in behavior, but maybe not too different in the reason for his motivations. He is perfectly sly and smart mouthed...perfect role for Jason Bateman. I was impressed with the depth that all main characters had really, for a Disney film.
It was a great "bunny" cop movie. It was believe it or not a very action packed film with lots of chases and animated stunts. There was even a jump scare that caught me off guard(made the little one beside me jump up out of her seat). The backgrounds were awesome, and the design/art style is what one would expect from a Disney film.
It is a great family film, and it's message is more important today than it ever has been.
