awwwwr! wolfe I am so sorry to hear that... it's sad loosing a friend, and even worse when you got to be with them there whole life... if you don;t mind me asking, what was the cause?

Her age along with both her hips having been broken two years ago finally got to the point she could barely walk anymore. In the last say or two she had just been going down hill on health so I figured it would best for her since her quality of life was so low.

Aw, man, I'm so sorry. I know your pain all too well. Sadly, part of our love for our dogs is giving them peace when their time comes, no matter how difficult it is for us. You gave her a great life for 16 years and eventually the good memories of your time together will displace the sorrow of today.
