A mind is like a parachute it only works if its open .
my home has mice my mom and i have been trapping for months and I'm the only one who gets caught I've stepped in five sticky traps this week dose any only know safe alternatives that actualy work
Cut off their food supply. Make sure all foods are store in sturdy mouse-proof containers. This is particularly important for foods with grain as the main ingredient, such as cereal. This means making sure all tables, counters and floors are free of crumbs after using them.
Find and seal up any areas where they are getting into the house to prevent new ones from coming in. Mice can fit through very small openings. You can buy a good UV LED light from eBay for under $10. You can often find where they are walking along walls, because their hairs and urine will show under the UV light. With luck, you can find the places where they are getting in.
When baiting traps, avoid cheese. Most mice will ignore it unless they're already near to starving. The best is probably to use some frosted shredded wheat stuck in a trap with a bit of peanut butter. If you just use the cereal alone, many mice will be smart enough to steal it without setting off a trap. With peanut butter holding it in place, they are more likely to disturb the trap enough to set it off.
Get a cat, and hope it's one of the 75 percent that go after mice! Keep in mind that a cat is not an instant kill device. They often play with their food and torture it before actually killing it.
If you're using sticky traps, make sure they are non-toxic. You can release the mice if desired by pouring some cooking oil on the stuck mouse and they'll be able to pull free. Just don't release them anywhere in your own yard, or they'll likely end up back in your house again, and be smart enough to avoid the trap the next time.
Avoid using poison. Poison tends to end up in the environment, and ultimately comes back to haunt us. Poison is also a slow and very agonizing way for something to die. Pets and children can accidentally get into the poison as well.
