Back to the drawing board

Hello everyone. I've been looking forward to getting back to drawing for a very long time and now is the chance for me to do just that. I want to draw as much as I can now that I have some more free time.
So I ask anyone out there for advice for a very beginner artist as myself. What are the tricks of the trade and any tips that can help me improve and make things not so stressful? My confidence gets very low sometimes when I see how truly bad I am at drawing.

FA+

Especially at coloring!
Drawing feral stuff on fa isn't it!
Oh.....?
My advice?
Draw sumpthin. ....leave it.... look at the drawing a couple of hours later..... I garante that you'll be wanting to redraw a certain part of the drawing! Then leave it for another day. .. then maybe you'll be satisfied with it or come up with a better idea or way to draw something. ...
That works for me!
Cause I always was a little too hasty draw and post something and wished that I didn't post it a certain way!
But with traditional art..... that's a permanent goof up!
I'm too cheap to work my way up to digital art!
And you're absolutely right! I do that sometimes when I draw. Take a break and come back to it with a whole new perspective. And it's high time I try drawing anthros now too. :3
But I guess that whut most furries be looking for. .....
Having their characters all dressed up like and have shame of being naked like hyumans!
I learned a lot over the years. ...
And being nosey. ..and seeing your humble beginnings. .
You've come a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way baby!
but yeah, dont be so hard on yourself you draw well... but being critical of yourself is good, drives you to do better.. just dont be to critical.
ill add to that to just draw for your self..not others,,
i find i draw my best and most importantly enjoy it most when i draw simply for myself and because i want to draw just for the sake of drawing.....
I can tell you my way: I begin with anatomy reference books (andrew loomis), and I try a lot of diference things (flat shading, shading, different styles of applying color),
The head and expression are very important (if the expression is cool the rest of the body mistakes are far less noticeable).
Do not try to make things too complicated, its a better way simple draws to improve a particular thing (that draw i want to draw a cool head, that draw i want to draw a cool body, now both)
If something is wrong, don't be afraid to erase.
I never like my own drawings...But It is an excuse to improve faster. I'm very nooby on this, but I hope I've been helpful.
Hugs! Coso
PS: Google Translator FTW
*Hugs back* Thanks so much hun! ^.^
Another thing to mention, what also helps me (though not everyone uses this technique) are using shapes to help construct the image. It's hard to describe this, so I may make a video to try to be more clear. But pretty much, using very lightly drawn shapes can help define the shape and pose and allows you to work on the image overall instead of little by little. Like I said, not everyone uses it, but for me, it's been quite useful.
You see, when you look at a drawing one way for long enough, you don't reallly notice anything peculiar. But if you flip it, it makes the pic look different, and anything odd can be more easily picked out.
So every once in a while, flip the image. It doesn't have to be constant. Just..whenever you get a good amount done, flip it and check it out. If anything seems wrong, try to fix it. Flip it again, doublecheck, and keep going from there.
And you're welcome!
