💜 Thank you all of those who give their support. 💜 Okay, its that time of year again when I'm feeling a little blah about my art. I've noticed quite a marked dive in interest in my art as of late. Which is fine, C'est la vie! but as someone who enjoys sharing her work, it's still something I've been thinking over a lot lately. Instead of dwelling on it and taking it personally (or being a stereotypical self-hating artist) I want to use that and strive harder to improve my work. While I have a few key things I want to focus on (perspective, using more dynamic poses, etc) I don't always pick up on flaws that others might pick up on more easily, due to the fact I'm looking at my work all the time. :x
So I need you all, with fresher, more discerning eyes to lend me a hand. :) It stands to reason that if you're watching me it means you already like my art enough to keep an eye on what I do, or see some potential in my work. It might make this a little more difficult, but I really want to know if there is something about my art you don't like? Is it something like some weird quirk of anatomy? Or is it something a little more subjective, like too many of x gender/sexuality/species?
And is there something you think my art is lacking that needs improving on? More story telling? Maybe more backgrounds? Perhaps I should try different things or concepts, cultural themes, sci-fi, etc?
Please let me know Id love to hear people's thoughts :)

And i very much tend to lean on the purple/blue teal side of the colour spectrum XD I cant help it i love those colours :P
I've noticed I get far fewer favorites / views when I upload things I commission than a year ago.
Could be just the season since people are committed to classes and stuff.
Could be it's been a while since you've uploaded often.
As for artwork, expanding your horizons to sci-fi, machinery, vehicles and stuff would prolly expose you to more people. Keep up the good work and WHEN CAN I COMMISSION YOU FINALLY?!
(In all seriousness, I'd love to someday.)
As for suggestions on improving: Dynamic posses, possibly backgrounds, is definitely a sound place to start. Maybe try out armor/complex clothing, just as a way to expand your skill range?
Do you think you could possibly show me a couple images where you feel this is the case? :)
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19306883/ Let's use this one for a black and white example: The shading done on this feels far more organic, and natural in my opinion than an image that has been colored. For one it feels like the shading adheres to detail, rather than a color edition where everything is perfectly smooth and blended..
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19298238/ In this image, I feel as though the lines for shading are too obvious, too inorganic to afford the detail in which is given in the black and white image. The lines here are smooth, cut off suddenly, and do not allow for a blend from one to the other as natural lighting often may account for.
Cheers!
I think you should also concentrate on less blantantly sexual and/or erotic material, only having tasteful nudity, and feature more prominently clothed characters in either casual, or intense action sequences. Drama and comedy may also work too.
The best to do: take photos on the internet (pinup, nudes, pronz, whatever), and try to doodle a character in that position. It often helps. It's aso good to doodle the musculature.
Otherwise, you can doodle about anything, take a step back, and look at the drawing as a whole. Then, it's easier to correct a detail.
That's all I can see, really.
By the way, for those who don't upload art everyday or every two days, or who've been scarse during a while, they're easily forgotten. Old beasties leave, new people join, tastes change, that's not the same mentality, and... that's internet. Also, I blame the extreme diversity of social network: when I joined, there was LiveJournal. Now, there's Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and a bazillion other places. Too much network kills the social aspect.
But that's just me.
I haven't seen any obvious simple things, so no quick easy comment, I'd have to ramble on and chat with you about your process and stuff, lol.
I would love to see you experiment, it's time and energy consuming but it might help you feel more capable and less in a rut. I've been practicing gesture drawing (erratically) for a few years and that helps loosen things up. I'm still sloppy and lazy half the time, but not as stiff, lmao.
There are something that I that I think could add some diversity and that might be a change in color palette and subject matter. Example would be trying to draw a bright daytime piece of like a lake scene or something. As for color palette more specifically I noticed that there are a lot of shades of blue and purple and sometimes things are more subdued, maybe try brighter warmer colors along with more earth tones.
Some of the things I have really loved seeing are the dynamic lighting effects of rain-forest scenes, the bright vibrant colors of coral reefs.
But I think the thing that kills a lot of artist is diversification and it is something that even I am struggling with as I would like to do more scenes with background or even just landscapes, but they use so many materials that is makes it difficult.
Please don't understand me wrong, I am not speaking about them being annoying, most people probably even enjoy them.
It is more that I believe you to care too much about specific content, techniques or kinks. What really made me look at your art in awe and made me both watch and commission you in the first place was the identity and charm of the art that you actually want to make for yourself. This is where true inspiration and motivation comes from and you might have lost some of that in your pursuit to please.
I think you will please people the most with your art, if you try to please yourself with it ^.^
Now then, fanboying out of the way, I saw a few suggestions I like; Dynamic posses & try out armor/complex clothing, just as a way to expand your skill range? Like I have noticed most of your art; while great, is a little static. Maybe Experiment with more angles and perspectives like you've down with these.

And Clothing and armor, you make beautiful character designs, maybe some pretty clothing to fit the style would be neat to see every now and again. I know your not a fashion designer of course :P
And there was mention of color pallets. Im plenty fine with the darks and greys, it fits your unique and personal Gothic style which NOBODY has, but you should incorporate some more brighter colors into some more works, and not just backgrounds.
And then my personal favorite I always bring up, and i think I mentioned before; more Diverse Species. Lamashtu is awesome and I love that Im seeing her more, but Im still craving more Xochi , and Blu. Or heck, just seeing more and different species in general that you may find time to create idly and possibly sell off.
And lastly since Im on the Agreeing train here. I doubt its so much YOU and your art, but more so how the Community here has been shifting and changing over the years. People just don't comment as much anymore because they don't always have anything interesting to say, or anything to say at all that others haven't already. And don't always fav stuff.
And then everybody hates FA so much, the staff, dragoneer, IMVU buyout, Peoples personal Problems not being handled the way they would want them and creating Exodus's, move to THIS new site thats "better" And the whole community is just dividing.
Anyway, how there was anything helpful in there, even if its just me adding to what others have said, with me possibly contridicting myself a few times.
The only thing I noticed on some of them was they can turn out quite flat, might be worth experimenting with lighting effects and shading :)
... NOTHING
BOOM
In all seriousness though I must commission. I MUST
have you tried using different digital brushes? or creating your own? maybe look into vector based artwork, think design and bold shapes! :D
What might help is think back to when you first started drawing what inspired you? who inspired you get that thought back and extend it further by looking up similar artists of today and even better, ones outside this fandom :)
hope this helps
