Farewell FA
When this month began, I opened commissions in general, with 3 slots dedicated to FA. Since I have so many followers here, I thought it would be easy to fill 3 slots, and I announced that people would have until today, 20 March -- giving them 20 days -- to fill those slots.
Those slots have not been filled. As this would seem to indicate that none of those followers -- more than 1000 of them! -- is interested in supporting my work, I can only conclude that this is one of many projects that is only serving to divide my attention and waste my time.
Accordingly, I'm closing commissions indefinitely for FA.
If by some wild chance you were prevented from requesting a commission slot before now, you can email me and be assured of a quick response. My email address is available on my main page.
I'm not going to hold my breath that I'll receive even a single mail from this site though.
I won't be checking back here regularly anymore, so if you want something, you'll have to email.
Bye.

people were probably busy with life things, and money was probably tight
First, I am a person just like any other. Money is tight for me too. The difference is, this is one site where I keep a presence, to open commissions, to help me to make my living.
I created a journal almost a month ago, letting people know that the next 20 days would be open for commission requests. If someone cannot take 30 seconds to write a mail or even comment on the journal created specifically for that purpose, I'm not going to twist their arm. I was careful to mention that this would be the final assessment period of this site, because I literally cannot keep splitting my time and attention to sites and communities that are not helping. That's wasted time. The concept of opportunity cost is relevant here: the time I'm spending doing things for no return on FA is time I'm spending not doing things that could actually be helpful and contribute towards my living.
I am, and have always been, fine letting people work out payment in any way they can. If someone had contacted me to say 'I really love what you're doing and don't want you to close commissions here, I'd like to commission but can't pay until next month on the 15th', I would've been fine with that because that's actually some positive response.
The thing is, art doesn't come from nowhere. It's time-consuming. And I have other sites and communities that I can actually focus on, which actually lead to some return for my hard work.
The FA community had almost a month for this specific period, but they also had well over a year to do more than was done. With over 1000 people watching? Those 3 slots should have been filled in less than a week. That's one thousand people, and they can't have all been so busy they couldn't send a quick message or afford a frankly very inexpensive commission.
I appreciate your time taken to comment, but speaking from the hip? It's not really helpful or constructive, and it's only arguably relevant.
I wish I could stop you, but, it's your decision. and besides, I don't have any money, myself, so...I do apologize
I would have gotten something but... money was tight and such...
