sillywerwolf I've become heavily disenchanted with the furry culture as of lately.
It's a process that was eventually going to come to pass, but recently it seems to have...accelerated.
I've lost 95% of my original interest in this subculture.
I used to be into to fat things for it's own sake (fetish) but such an interest is fleeting and flare-like, especially since I've seen the fallout such an interest produces.
Even the erotica failed to grasp me. It's boring. BORING!
It's basically the same thing I'm scrolling over again and again, and due to me not being sexually interested in it, it doesn't hold anything for me.
Also It seems that most fetish/porn artists (they might as well be one) lack intention and direction with their pieces; a feeling of listlessness. And such is infectious.
And they dont seem to know what they're making themselves.
Like robots with human capacities.
Such matters would be insignificant if they didn't dominate the interests of most members of this culture. Therefore... I find it difficult to relate or hold a conversation with all but a few.
This will affect my own artwork as well. I dont want to be quacking in the void with my written work simply because I did not betray my values and morals to reach a broader audience.

It's going to feel washed out and like an afterthought.
Overall it'll feel like a bait and switch.
I just intensely dislike the tunnel vision that seems to be the go to here.

It wouldnt do to try to have a foot in both camps. By going one way I alienate the side.
And I wont compromise my morals and ideals through my art. I've seen the results of such too many times.
I have no use for those who are only interested in using art receiving sexual gratification.

I never thought about furries as cultire, neither i think of myself like one of them. There is surely really cool guys among them. The few i'm lucky to know... but what i usually see in conversations with "normal boring hyooomans" is a bunch of wierd narcissistic people trying to insult everyone who don't like furries as they do :I
There is so much talent and creativity within the fandom, it just doesn't stand out because it's drowned out but all the shitty porn. From what I've seen at the conventions I've attended, there is a complete split within the fandom: People that are engulfed by sex and people that keep it to themselves.
It bothers me so much because this conflict clashes with my love for fursuits. Most of my friends who are not furry immediately thinks it's linked to sex. This has cultivated my despise for people who openly display their sexual fetishes.
Luckily there's enough great people here that keeps me coming back.
