Update on my life and Mom.
So for those of you who who don't know or haven't heard by now. Sunday afternoon Between 1:46 PM and 2:18 PM Eastern Standard Time, my Mother had a massive stroke. I came home from work, opened the door and there she was, just laying there on the floor barely responsive and barely conscious. I called my Father right away, and as soon as he got here 3 minutes later, dialed 911, the ambulance was here with in a matter of moments.
Fast forward to a day or so later. She had a stroke on the left side of her brain, which resulted in her being paralyzed on the right side of her entire body. She couldn't talk, walk, or even use any functionality on that side.
The stroke ended up being too severe, her left side of the brain was gone, was mostly brain-dead. She would open her eyes and turn her head every now and then, looked over at us, but unable to speak or communicate.
We made the difficult decision of putting her on a Morphine Drip, to make her comfortable. And eventually had the ventilator removed. After almost 11 hours of breathing on her own (was snoring and congested breathing) for the duration of that time. She passed on to the next life. But because of the Morphine Drip, she was able to go comfortably and without pain, she took her final breath at 4:56 AM This Morning 03/23/2016, and the doctors pronounced her dead as of 5:04 AM.
It's been a hard 3 days for everybody, my Father, her Two Sisters, Her Mother, My Cousins, Myself, and lastly our Dog Mya.
Our Dog has had a very hard time understanding she's gone, but is beginning to accept it. My Mother and I went and picked up Mya just barely over 3 years ago, 2 months before I turned 32. This was the first time in my Dog's life that she was without me at her side over night, since she stayed with my Father's Sister, until about 5:45 AM this morning.
So I will be around when I'm able to this week, just right now things are hectic. Trying to get by one step at a time and not rush through it all too fast.
