Of course. I've always wanted to go to events, just never been able to go. Now though, I have the option. :D

I've been to furry events, I been to leather events; never one that is specifically a furry leather event. I know both tend to tolerate having us.

I too haven't found a furry/leather event and I doubt there will be one anytime soon as there seems to be not a significant amount of overlap between the two groups. I do know that the younger leather crowd seems to enjoy having furs around as the furs tend to be more outgoing about their kinks and interests. The older leather crowd is the hardest for me to judge on how they see furs but as far as I know no one has expressed an openly negative few of furs within the leather community.

I'm a leather master in New Mexico, active in my community - I love furries! That's kinda obvious me bein here - but if anyone follows forms of consent; ie, not getting into someone else's face unannounced, interjecting your fursona into their life without asking etc.

For example, there's a scene group called "littles." This is playing like a toddler boy or girl, walking with your teddy bear in your jammies, in a leather dungeon space when some hardcore adult action is going on. The mere presence of such characters is seirously ofputting to some players. The fringe of pedphilia that runs here creeps many players out.

In my adult sexual world, I have NO INVOLVEMENT WITH CHILDREN EVER. So someone pretending to be a child hits my creep button. Of course, I need to tell you that the REMEDY to this issue is not to ban the child-play kinkster, its to remove myself. Who has the problem? Me. Own your problem, fix your own problem. That's our first rule in getting along. That takes grown ups.

Even here in FA when I see a chibbi version of my favorite muscle fursonae get pulled off by some artist, I don't blame the artist, i look elsewhere. Infantilizing my power icons is a dislike of mine, but I own My problem. U can't like everything. I am never ever impressed by cutsie fursonae with huge eyes and hearts everywhere.

Of course I'm a complete psycho about this, I will fight and defend that selfsame cute furry in public and know to get out there dressed as such takes work, skill, and courage. I love the heart that can do that. LOVE.

Back to the dungeon example with the little in his jammies - Now if this "little" as they are known walks up and asks me while I am involved with another player doing [redacted for taste] and he/she asks, Can yu hewlp wif my bunny? He's sad and needs a hug." OK now, he is inserting himself into my life without my consent. I'll have him reprimanded and corrected by the safety monitors.

So if your fursona has to run and glomph someone on sight unannounced, that might not be ok. but if you are a huge my-Little-Pony-zilla walking the halls of a convention loooking for a feed bag, hell ya that's sweet.

our last party a horsey fursona showed up. He was a young colt and needed to run. We made him a track area and let him go! But we all worked together to get him a place for his fun. Right in the middle of a leather dungeon we had set up a quick fur play area next to the Littles. they were thrilled.

Any public play as you know takes adult sensibilities and a willingness to bring everyone together. I gotta tell you, not every community has this much inclusion - check with your group organizers before assuming.
