Well, I know very little of star wars lore, but, Im sure the Jedi and Sith can actually fly with the force if they are concentrating enough. Plus there was some weird device on the handle of his dual-sabre. perhaps an anti-grav unit?

I'm sure there is an explanation behind how it actually works. I for one started to think that maybe, because heat rises and lightsabers are so hot that they melt through metal, that maybe (with assistance from the Force) the blades spinning generates enough circular heat to lift a person.
