Forced Global Password Resets
InkedFur customers, creators, and users of all kinds:
Earlier this evening, InkedFur.com was the target of an attack whose purpose appears to have been to infect various pages with a script that would cause visitors to said pages to receive a pop-up, as well as silently injecting malicious files into their browser cache. From the cache, the files would auto-download to the site visitor's computer and install a trojan. The attacker also left calling cards on other site pages.
In response to this attack, we took InkedFur.com offline to prevent any possible infections, wiped to backup, patched vulnerabilities, and reset user passwords. You should have received an email prior to this one from wordpress[at]inkedfur.com with your new password; please log in to the InkedFur website ASAP and change your password to something of your choosing from this page: https://inkedfur.com/my-account/edit-account/ . Please use a different password than your previous InkedFur.com password. You may also wish to change your password on any other website that uses the same password as your previous InkedFur.com password. We do not believe that the attacker had access to passwords or other personal information, but we wish the website to be as safe and secure as possible for you to use.
OF NOTE: NO CREDIT CARD INFORMATION WAS COMPROMISED. Financial information is not stored on InkedFur.com and remained secure throughout the attack.
Due to the site being wiped to backup, all data after April 10, 2016 has been lost. However, if you placed an order after this date, it will still be processed as we have backup information on all orders.
We greatly apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and look forward to your continued business with and enjoyment of InkedFur, InkedFur.com, and its products. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at staff[at]inkedfur.com or tweet at our Twitter account, InkedFurPrints.
