Long before any of the events that concern Kazimir Devacacesi, were the Zveda. A civilization that had the ability to traverse the stars. At some point, there came an interest in artificial life. Project Chronaslav was aimed at creating a synthetic person completely free from any biological origins. The scientists created synthetic gametes and synthetic gestation organs. After many years of failures, many of the scientists left Project Chronaslav to try and create their own experiments. The first synthetic life was created from these scientists and were praised for their skills. they boasted to the public about using only pure-artificial methods; the truth in fact being they cheated. They used modified existing cells and DNA to create a base generation of synthetics, then breed specific synthetics with each other to bring out pure synthetic characteristics. After synthetics populated to systems, they began to war with the biologicals. This is called the Great Fake War. Project Chronaslav never fully disbanded. Project Chronaslav in secret merged with Project Star-Birth. Both projects took ships, the Gamayun and the only ship capable of F.T.L. flight the Uexkull, and fled deep into uncharted space to conduct their experiments. Nothing is know about Project Star-Birth, only that they discovered a new thought about the universe, they called this Cosmic Fundamentalism; they were also known to conduct unethical experiments in conjunction with Project Chronaslav. The Great Fake War soon found its way to the Uxekull and Gamayun. As soon as they were approached, Uxekull jumped into unknown space, leaving Gamayun abandoned with the product of Project Chronaslav. On Gamayun, No. 180924609 was found, the first pure artificial being. She would later find a way to escape the war and settled on a lonely system. Those who explored the Gamayun were shocked by the truth of Project Chronaslav and destroyed all materials on it. Any more information from the time of the Zveda ended with the finding of the Gamayun. The Zveda went to near extinction due to an unknown event and the survivors were forced onto a single planet, the same planet No. 1809246 went to. The survivors forgot what they used to be, forgot all their technology and forced back into a dark age. Whatever caused the mass extinction is unknown except that it has to do something with the concept of Cosmic Fundamentalism. Cosmic Fundamentalism is the answer to why a space-travelling society can revert back to the middle ages, it is the answer to why after an age of science why things like the Beasts of the Earth, Yoel & Io, and the Rusty Bayonet can exist, and it is the answer to why Kazimir is so special.

Uxekull would eventually return, and with it those who fled the Great Fake War. They will seek and find Kazimir before the End of All Things.
