There is no favoritism for "pop-furs" here, they are just putting a requirement for the entry to be that you are even half way active in the community. I've managed to get three accounts to greater than 1k watchers without issue, and I'm far from popular.

To be fair, you do make semi-large drama storms and scenes over things on a somewhat regular basis, that probably dissuades people from following you.
