Limited Time Art Trades
General
Hey, so this coming week is my last week of college~!
Yay~
As a means of celebrating, not only finishing the commissions and other work I have, I wanted to do something cool with other artists, so I thought I'd open a limited number of slots for art trades that I could do once college ends. There are a few stipulations for this, if only because I don't like bad experiences in this sort of thing to sour my opinion of the practice (which... has kinda happened in the past but this is just a means of avoiding that happening again).
SLOTS:
1.) AzorMutt
2.) OPEN
3.) OPEN
4.) OPEN
5.) OPEN
Should anyone be interested in doing an art trade with me, here are some of the things that need to be taken into consideration beforehand.
Please READ THESE.
1.) You have to have done art trades in the past.
This is important. I have actively had situations in the past where people have approached me for art trades and clearly have no intention of completing their side. A few years ago, just before I stopped doing them, I did an art trade with someone, finished my half, only to have their half be a 5 minute MS paint scribble. I was so angry that I took down my half of the trade and closed off trades entirely.
Even if it's just once, I kinda have to see that you actually take art trades seriously and don't just sketch out something menial and call it done. It's not fair, it ain't cool and it sours the experience.
2.) No animations.
I get it, animations are cool, but they're also incredibly time consuming and I want to bust out a bunch of these for fun within a two week period or so.
3.) You don't have to be subscribed to me.
4.) Your artwork doesn't have to be the peak of perfection.
Let's be honest, as artists most of us already don't think our work is
perfect, but what I'm saying is that as long as you put in effort to your piece and have a whole lot of fun with it, your artwork doesn't have to be perfect or gallery quality. I want to see what kind of cool stuff you can do--what's unique to you and your view of the world. I love seeing an artist really take a project and have fun with it and that's my intent in doing these trades--to have fun.
5.) The character doesn't have to be yours.
The character you request for me to draw for you can be any character you want, not just your original character or your fan character. Anyone.
6.) Equal work for equal work.
If you want me to draw more than one character (up to a limit of three) then you would need to provide an equal amount of work, meaning that your half of the trade has to have the same number of characters and of my choosing. Additionally, if you want a fully coloured image, you also have to provide a fully coloured image. Sketch for sketch. Colour for colour.
7.) You can suggest what you want to draw from my characters.
I have a lot of characters and I'm super indecisive so I would most likely give you a range of subjects to choose from anyway. If you already have one in mind who you think you'd have fun drawing, then that's perfectly okay!! But please note, this only applies to my characters. Please don't approach me with things like "I'll draw Batman if you draw my original character!" because my answer will be "no."
8.) No commission trades.
The whole point of this is to have fun with another artist, possibly drawing something neither of us draw very often. If you buy a commission from someone as a stand-in for your half of the trade it kinda defeats the purpose and lessens the fun.
Aaaaaaaaanndd that's about it.
I'm gonna open 5 slots on my DA account, 5 on my Furaffinity and 5 on my Tumblr. If you miss the slot openings on one account, you can always try another one. However, if you've already cornered a spot, please simply take that one and don't go for another. If you do not only will I say "no," I'll also give the slot you already had to someone else.

Remember, I have college up until the end of next week, so I won't actually start on your drawings until that and my remaining 3 commissions are finished. So please don't get in a tizzy if your drawing isn't done by this coming Monday. For now I'm accumulating participants, and I'll start on your pieces after next weekend when the dust has settled.
Happy drawing~

The characters I would love to see you create in your half of the art trade are two new characters I am having star in a new webcomic series. I am still in the conepting phase so I think seeing them drawn out by a pro like you would be awesome for inspiration!
So my first character Ben is a stringy teenage genius that loves discovering new things and creating! His wardrobe is usually a baggy long sleeve, skinny jeans, his cap, and some sneakers. I will let you play with the colors of his clothes, but his hat is black with a dark green bill, he has dark brown hair, and brown eyes.
My second character is Toby the Polar Bear. He is basically the opposite of Ben, being a massive and easygoing sort of guy. He is roughly ten feet tall, and a little heavier than he'd like, due to his careless over eating. He is a really fun loving guy that likes to crack jokes and is almost never in a bad mood. His wardrobe is still very much so up in the air, but I'd probably like him to have like a button up and probably cargo shorts (since his hind legs are stocky and I think those would look good). For shoes, you can have him wearing big skate shoes, sandals, or he could be "BEAR" foot. Colors for his clothes are up to you, but his hair is a dark brown spiky fohawk with hair lining the edges of his jaw and chin. He too has brown eyes.
For the picture I'd love just the two of them posing together in a way that shows their personalities.
Oh for my part of the trade please do not by shy about details, I gave you a lot to work with and I definitely plan to return the favor! I can't wait to see what you have in store for me!
Thank you so much for the opportunity!

FYI These are old... I am much better now lol
After college is done this week, I'll be able to start right on this~
For that reason, don't worry about getting your half done toute suite. I won't be able to work on yours for at least a half a week, so don't stress or anything~ I also wanna give you some options as to what you might like to draw, and I'm gonna post more references for a couple of them right after I'm done college, so if you wanna do those ones you're perfectly welcome to wait until I post those references and images and whatnot
So I was thinking maybe....
Vicloria and Rocket Robin:

http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16256252/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16255439/
Robin wears a lot of skirts or short-shorts along with really heavy sweaters or bomber jackets, and she wears a jetpack which you can kinda have fun with design-wise if you want to. The only thing of note for it is that it has two sets of wings (one short, one long) that kinda fold together like a bug's shell or a pair of scissors. Robin's very stoic but she has a really subtle sense of humor where she cracks wise without laughing or really acknowledging her jokes, while Vicloria is very loud and brash and basically a mad scientist archetype. Vicloria's 6'2" and Robin is 5'7." They're arch enemies so you could probably have some fun with stuff that they might do.
Mecha and Stem OR Stem and Briar Isi:

Mecha and Stem --> http://www.furaffinity.net/view/18674406/
Briar Isi --> http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19275845/
I'm actually gonna be posting a LOT more artwork of Mecha, Stem and Briar Isi almost immediately after school ends, so if you wanna wait around to see those images and their finished palettes, that's fine.
Mecha's basically determined as going to be purple and red with some grey patches. Stem I've actually changed the main colour to yellow, but the tuft of fluff around their neck is still white (based off of a dandelion). Briar Isi has a light green body with dark green and dark purple-red strips on the leafy bit (based off of a Jack in the Pulpit flower).
Mecha's exceedingly quiet which some might see as them being shy. They're mostly an observer and tend to go with the flow, but they can get pretty violent when the situation calls for it. Mecha is 7'6" and could either wear no clothes or heavy traveller's clothes (they're a metaloid, so they're not picky).
Stem is quiet and polite and very unsure of themselves. They are used to being alone but also dislike that lonliness so they embrace whenever someone actively wants to spend time with them and this is typically when Stem is the happiest. They're very passive so they get dragged into stuff a lot. Stem is about 3 feet tall.
Briar Isi is sly, clever and very self-involved. She thinks that she knows everything which gets her into a lot of trouble but that also comes with a natural curiosity when she finds something she's unsure of.
oooooooooorrrrrr
Herbert and Carlisle:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16258634/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16258655/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16262926/
Carlisle's about 5'11" and a pretty hefty guy and Herbert is a small orange octopus of undetermined genus. Carlisle is laid back most of the time but is really cynical and has very little patience for people so he never bothers trying to hide when he's bored, tired or skeptical. Herbert, on the other hand is loud (in the sense that he breaks things--he cannot actually speak), emotionally driven, empathetic to friends and struggles with random bouts of anger. They're roommates and best friends and Herbert loves riding around on Carlisle while Carlisle enjoys the excitement that a sentient, non-aquatic octopus brings to his otherwise mundane life.
I'll let you pick whatever you think you'll have the most fun drawing~
If you wanna mix and match or suggest another character of mine you think you might have more fun drawing, that's okay too~

LOL, typed that and thought of that scene. I was thinking of a picture of the two of them together in a cartoony style. Carlisle can be standing with Herbert suctioned onto his shoulder hugging/tickling Carlisle, and Carlisle can be reacting with a smile and having his arms and a leg raised
I can't wait to see what you come up with~
And I'm so looking forward to getting started on my half of the trade for you~
