This kept up for the next few nights, with a few variations. So, one night, about a week after the first incident, I taped a piece of paper to the mirror, on which I had written: "Who (or what) are you, and what do you want from me?" The following morning, I removed the paper, but there was still a piece of paper on the mirror, only on the other side of the glass! It read, in a backwards sort of script: "Who do you think I am, numb-skull? I'm you! Or, rather, your reflection. As for what I want, it's quite simple. I want to take over your life! And it's going to happen soon, oh yes!"
I tried to show anyone in my family the evidence that there were strange forces at work, but when I got them to the bathroom mirror, the paper was gone! Yet, once the rest of my family had left, My reflection gave me an evil grin and mouthed the word "soon"...
The next night, I was brushing tangles out of my hair, as usual, when the power suddenly went out. All of a sudden, I felt myself being pulled forward by my wrists into, and through, the mirror! The next moment, the power came back on, and I was looking at myself, or, more correctly, my reflection, but from behind the mirror! I tried pounding on the surface, but it seemed unbreakable to me.
Now, I realize it's not that bad being a reflection. I don't have to work, I get all the time off that I need, and I can do practically whatever I want to do. And all for just mirroring my other self... I got bored, so I built a trans-universal data transfer device and wired it into my computer system to be able to transmit messages to my true universe instead of this mirror universe. One of these days, though, I will make it back across the divide between universes, and then my mirror self is going to pay for what he did...
Same basic premise in that the main characters' reflections try to switch places with them, but developed into a 139-page-long story.

I hope you feel better soon though!
Back in 2003, I had the "good fortune" of getting strep at the same time I contracted Mono, so that was a barrel of laughs. The doc wasn't sure it was strep right away considering all my other symptoms and delayed putting me on medicine, so my throat ended up being so sore I literally could not swallow without choking, even if I wasn't eating or drinking. Utter misery! I lost a lot of weight between the strep and Mono. :P
As a kid, I got strep so often they considered removing my tonsils, but the problem eventually subsided on its own. Thankfully, now I'm in good health!
Keep feeling better, and remember it could be worse! ;)
