Big changes ahead!
Whelp, in four short days, my life has now been turned completely upside down. Long story short, is a retirement has led to me finally getting a biology job. It's been darn near three years since I first started trying to apply my education to something and for it to finally pay off makes me so happy. I'm going to be studying fungi, bryophytes, lichens, and some other plant types as well as a seasonal botany technician. It's temp work sure, but I'm hoping the connections and such I make will be invaluable to securing more permanent employment. The biggest change is that I'm going to move 2200 miles away from my home here in Arkansas to a small town just east of Portland Oregon. This prospect scares the living crap out of me but it's going to be an enormous adventure. I get excited just thinking about studying bio things in the pacific northwest. There's so much beautiful land up there, not to mention plenty of squeak friendly folks in the area. In short, I'm both scared and excited all at the same time. *takes a super deep breath* Things are about to get interesting.
Have fun studying mushrooms!
Meanwhile I'll sit here... Maybe have a couple of mushrooms... hehe...
