Its even better then what you think. At least in pretty much every game I played, which I assume also works with out of game with actual cards unless they programmers are total idiots for doing it over MANY games lol. Aside from its attack and defense doubling after the first turn, any equip card on them also doubles. So an axe of despair becomes a 2k raise instead of 1k. Its very broken. I would assume they fix it on actual rules, but considering there are some damn broken cards in general. Its very possible they didn't.

Toss up between Arcanite Magician and Gemini Elf

i've used gemini elf for a loot of time, but had to take it of my deck :P
Arcanite magician is awesome as well, but i can't do synchro summons ;-;

I used to play it a looong time ago. Never hardcore, I gave up after playing my buddy who used to use an undead deck. He would basically keep me at bay while he had his two Pumpkings set in defense position, he would just lay on me with traps and Dark Holes until his Pumpkings were nigh unstoppable.

My favorite was Black Luster Soldier.

Haha my brother uses pumpkins as well, tho it is Pumprincess.
They are pretty annoying but i have some nice counters ;P

Guitaars is a penedulum monster yeah, He's a more modern card when it comes to the Symphonic warrior archetype, him and symphonic warrior Miccs.
