New pc status and other stuff

Well, this has been quite a week! Apart from working two very busy 40+ hour weeks in a row, waiting for this pc has made it all more intense. The computer took a bit longer to be ready, and after lots of initial settings and one trip back to the shop, it's finally here, with most of my stuff already transferred and working.
Thankfully Steam makes it a lot easier and most game saves are already in the Steam Cloud. Others, it's just a matter of copy-pasting the save files from the old computer and also transferring mod folders. All good! Good thing WhitePawPrints and I have a pretty decent internet service and downloading most of my games has taken just minutes.
The hardest and most frustrating part was setting up the tablet. For some reason my tablet didn't like Win 10. It took a good half an hour to play around with the calibration thingy and setting up my brushes again to get to that right feel. It still feels slightly different than in my old Win 8.1 pc, but I've done a few sketches and all looks good. Another thing that threw me off was the profiler for my Logitech G27 racing wheel. Same thing as with my tablet. Took a while to set it up again and still, it feel a bit odd. I will have to get used to it.
Managed to download all my music from Amazon again and I am super pleased with how good this computer outputs sounds. I'm a bit of an audiophile and this has been a very pleasant surprise. It's been three years and I'm finally back with the good-old Realtek! No more of that awful Beats Audio crap that my Win 8.1 pc had.
I bought myself a very nice Logitech G602 gaming mouse and a Logitech G710 mechanical gaming keyboard which is an absolute beauty. Man, there is nothing like typing in a mechanical keyboard! I can't wait to get back to writing my story!
But how's the pc? Oh boy... I almost feel as if I don't deserve it! I gave Metal Gear Solid 5 a try and holy shit! (pardon my French). Maxed out, baby. All of my other games that I couldn't max out in my old pc are now being played as they should be played. The one that has surprised me the most is Borderlands TPS. I know it's a game that pretty much any computer can run, but to see it at full HD in Ultra settings running above 100 fps is simply breath-taking. I always loved that game series for the super colorful and vibrant graphic design. Tomorrow I shall download the rest of my games and probably buy Fallout 4 and play it how is meant to be played (I already have it for PS4, but I wanted to play it for PC).
As for art, tomorrow I will try and get back to my reference sheets. Hopefully the new "odd" tablet feeling will be easy to get used to.
End of ramble.
Oh, and... (oh man, I want to punch myself in the face for this...) MASTER RACE, YOU CONSOLE PEASANTS! (okay.. I'll go jump off a bridge now...)

Big Boss had its time to shine in MGS3 as the last pure MGS. I feel every other game after has just been an excuse to milk the franchise. Nevertheless, some of these games are decent enough to give them a try. I haven't really played MGS5 in depth yet, but I do think it still feels like Metal Gear when it comes to story. The only negative thing I can say about it for now is that it's trying a bit too hard to be other games.
And frankly I'm sad that MGS3 is the only one of its kind. Yeah some of the others have the camo index but it's not the same in 4 or Peacewalker. They made like, the best Metal Gear ever in 3 and opted not to stick with that formula for longer than one game.
As per Konami, the company is being run by morons apparently, with their apparent decision to get away from regular games and focus on slot machines and things of the like. Here you've got one I consider to be the second best video game company ever, second only to Nintendo, and they're basically just sitting on their intellectual properties while apparently producing nothing worthwhile with them. Kojima was probably right to leave but I can't say I'm sad to see the series end. His personal sense of genius was clearly getting ahead of him. I mean...he did give Snake that mustache.
I know you tend to love Metal Gear no matter what so frankly it's nice to know that even you found 5 to be off-putting. The series had a great run but unfortunately it ended with a whimper. But as you said, we've always got the original 3. And if you've ever played the MSX originals from the 80's/90's those are brutally hard but fun in their own way, too. You ever play the Gameboy version of Metal Gear Solid? It's a fantastic and impressive Gameboy color game. So many great games in the series, but MGS5...bleh.
Also sorry for repeating myself as I know I probably said some of this 2 months ago on the previous comments.
And there's the money. I don't know what it would cost but the truth is, modern gaming is a rarity with me. I'm not sure it's even worth the cost of what PC master race d-bags call a "rig" because it's only a stray want, to play modern games. Like I'm interested in this new Doom and don't want to by a DoucheBox One or DoucheStation 4 but I heard that even getting DOOM on PS apparently requires you to download some of the data. What the fuck is the point then? What do I really own? And it seemed like finding a good machine still using Windows 7 was needlessly hard.
I don't know. It's a frustrating problem. I'm curious about moving to PC gaming but I'm not sure it's worth it, I don't know what machine to look for, I don't know if I can afford it, or if I'll even really use it, and I don't want a windows 8 or newer. In some ways I wish I were more of a nerd, but this kind of "nerding" never interested me until absolutely necessary. The trouble is the type of people who are this kind of nerds tend to annoy the shit out of me with their attitude.
/Rant.
