Request Lottery Idea?

Who would mind a request lottery? Costs like $5 to buy a 'ticket' into the lottery, you get 15 words to describe a hot image(OCs may or may not be welcome, I haven't decided), and I choose like 1-5 winners a month depending how many people buy in?
And then a vote on which one of those winners get a full color?
Throwing it out there, since coming June, I'll be taking the summer off school and I want to try some new things.

may be interesting, would have to keep that $5 from time to time to take a ticket on random months.

I might do it through patreon, that way I can more easily track the people who are getting their $5 in and what their request is. I'm not sure yet, just throwing the idea into the ether and seeing what bites

Unfortunately, I don't think you would be able to run such a lottery, either here or on Patreon, or on any other website, really. Technically, any plan where an entrant has to pay to enter a 'game of chance' is considered a form of gambling, and hence illegal in most jurisdictions. Such pay-to-enter lotteries or raffles are expressly against FA and Patreon's TOS, precisely because they are illegal, and the websites could also face prosecution for hosting them.

it would be cool, but (sorry i read the other comment) if you do it for patreon it could be troblesome, since its a lotery

Yeah, I'm thinking of ways I could make it work, like the lottery just being free in my free time XD

but that way it would be unfair, let see paypal alone would be a dissaster as well, so its there any like payment pages where you can start a donation or something easely and look at the people that donated?

How would it be unfair? I make a call out to anyone to wants to put a request in and then put them through a random number generator. It wouldn't be asking for any money ever

Since I'll be doing only art all summer, I thought it would be nice to at least try any sort of request lottery. Give something back to all the people who've been so wonderful for a really low price or free. We'll see though, the idea is still perculating

Well, it would be a way to entice people to try and get a few ideas in their head. If they lose, they may commission you for the piece to see it through. So, perhaps a way to get people to commission little scenes?
