Joseph Status Update: Improvements, but Mostly Still Awful

KaevielEff again with today's update on Joe's health. Last night was rough on both of us; his bariatric bed (rather, beds - both of them had the same issue, when we tried trading the first one out for another) aren't measuring his weight right, and were screaming at us every fifteen minutes from all of yesterday to sometime after 6:30 AM this morning until it gave up for many hours for reasons unknown and unquestioned because, hey, we got a little sleep on and off, when nurses weren't coming in and Kristen wasn't arriving... But yeah, we didn't really sleep-sleep last night, so that's had an impact on him and me. We finally just got his bed unplugged because the beep-screams came back when Kristen randomly poked a button; it's internal battery isn't charged so it doesn't make noises now - so we (more importantly, he) might sleep tonight.
As to Joe's condition, as I said, there are some improvements. The infection on his leg is no longer AS tender to the touch or constantly hurting, and the swelling and color have gone down a little. So good news there - he's responding well to the antibiotics. We think at this point surgery shouldn't be required to deal with it. They also finally put him on fluids to re-hydrate him this morning; we've been telling them he was dehydrated since he was checked in yesterday, but somehow that never ended up being notated on his chart until this morning (most likely the leg infection was stealing the limelight).
So, as what I've started above indicates, we'll be here at least one more night; unsure what'll come after tomorrow, but maybe we'll get to bring him home. Last thing I'd like to do is thank everyone who gave Joe well wishes yesterday; Omina, NinjaCharles, Sinster, Cosmic, and stevenmawls, you're all wonderful and both Joe and I appreciate your kind thoughts and hopes for a swift recovery. He has read your comments, and if he can he'll respond as soon as he can. I've meant to comment to you each myself, but I've been exhausted and kind of out of it all day. Don't let my lack of direct comment make you think I haven't noticed or how much it's touched us. Thanks for being awesome and supportive; I'll keep doing at least daily updates as long as we're stuck here.
