The Long Day *Please Read*

Good morning.
I know exactly how you feel. Feeling like you'd just be better off in bed today, avoiding the world and not leaving the safety of your covers. I get it. But there's a lot of world to explore out there. So get up, we'll face it together.
You're not feeling into it. You've got a lot on your mind. You don't want to have to go to work today, you don't want to go to school. You didn't get enough sleep last night because you were up all night worrying about the morning. You couldn't sleep because your mind was abuzz with so many thoughts and voices, memories and lessons, and none of it was making sense. It was making your head hurt so you just laid there, staring at your ceiling.
I feel you.
But it's time to get up.
You're scared, confused, lost. You don't want to go down and hear your parents screaming at each other, you don't want to go to school just to be smack-talked by your teacher, you don't want to go to work and feel underappreciated when you work the hardest out of anybody there. You don't want to face that test, that face, that place, that street. You just want to lay down and forget you ever existed.
I understand.
But it's time to get up.
You argue, you bicker, you fight and whine. You don't want to get up and be forced into a position you don't want to be in. You don't want to go to cruel place where cruel people make you feel like garbage. Where the people you thought you could trust end up backstabbing you the hardest and where the people who you thought could never hurt anybody hurt the most. Where the people can break your heart without saying a word and make you feel like your feelings don't matter.
I know.
But it's time to get up.
If you let those feelings overcome you, that feeling of dread, depression, sadness, anger, frustration, anxiety...If you let them overcome you, you let them take control of your life and they will drive you off the nearest cliff they can find. And in a world where a bump in the road feels like a mountain and the potholes feel like ravines, they'll drag you down quickly.
So this morning is for all the people out there who feel like nothing. This is for all the people out there who feel like not existing is better than realizing their inner potential. This is for all the people who always feel like giving up but never do. This is for the people who never feel truly listened to or loved.
Well I'm telling you that you are loved.
And if you can't see that, then get closer and look again! And if you still can't see it, LOOK HARDER. There's always something, someone out there, caring for you even if you don't realize it. They see the beauty in you for the times that you are blind. They feel the warmth radiating off of you for the times when you feel cold.
And if you can't see your inner beauty then clean the dust off your mirror. Look a little deeper. Check every corner and crevice in your heart and soul because it's there.
Being smart isn't about always being right. Being strong isn't about being unbreakable. Being a person isn't about being a machine. You are a person, and you have feelings.
And if you think that you are alone, then I have news for you: You're not. There's hundreds of thousands of people out there who feel just like you. There are people hiding behind cheerful masks with big smiles painted on when inside they don't even know what it's like to truly smile anymore. There are people who's grass always seems greener when in reality, they just have a lot of green dye.
People are always saying "You never know how much you have until it's gone" but no one ever tells you "You never know how much you needed something until you receive it".
Consider this your wake-up call. Consider this your helping hand. Even in times when you think you have nobody to lean on, all it takes is for you to do a little more digging. It's always hard to see things when the world around you seems dark. We ALL have a spark in us, we all have a burning passion, a desire to feel truly happy and we do our best to keep that feeling but it's always gone too soon.
And there are times that you're going to fall. You're going to get hurt. You're going to stumble. That's okay. You'll recover. You'll put a cast on your shattered feelings and your broken heart and you'll heal. But don't think you need to do it alone because there are so many more of us waiting to help you.
We all know how it feels to go home to people who have no idea what you're going through and have the nerve to say "get over it". They try to supress us, they try to bury our feelings but we will break through and stand our ground. In a world where happiness comes in little pills and depression comes in giant tidal waves, sometimes being buried seems like the best course of action but it's not.
There's a reason you were put ON this Earth, and that's because you're still too young to be put IN it. You have so many years ahead of you and many more lessons and laughs to share, and yeah it's gonna get rough and there are gonna be times where you feel like you'll never escape that tunnel because no matter how hard you search you just can't seem to find the light at the end but it's there.
And when you finally reach the end of the tunnel and you look back, you'll see just how far you've gone and how far you have left to go. But if you choose to hide, your problems will only grow more severe. Your demons will only grow stronger, but they're never unbeatable. So don't make the fight anymore difficult that you have to.
Even when the days seem endless and the nights seem too short, there's always something to be happy about and it's that you didn't give in, you didn't give up and you not only survived but you thrived. Despite every power working against you, even your own mind or body, you still said NO. You refused to give in to your inner demons.
The day seems long and your bed is awfully comfortable. But if you don't work to solve your problems, they won't ever be fixed. No one is saying you have to do it alone.
So come on.
It's time to get up.
Let's face the day, together.
