Be careful whose problems you speak of when posting journals
9 years ago
We live in a rather unusual time these days, where people take offense and then pick up arms for matters in which they have no business. A very close friend of mine has recently come under fire from such individuals, attacking and bullying them for a matter which became public when it should not have been.
They, my friend, used artwork they found on a public domain site, and when the original artist came forth explaining the situation, they took it down right away. However, the artist also publicly posted about the event, and several of their followers began to harass and bully my friend, in spite of the situation being resolved in a peaceful manner. The original post didn't even attempt to instigate anything, but it happened anyway. This caused, and continues to cause, a lot of undue stress for my friend and for those close to them, and it may not stop for quite a while.
I do not believe it was the artist's intention to cause this to happen. You can't be held responsible for what others do, but please, be careful when you post things about anyone on the internet.
