We train our guys for 2 days usually then see if they retain anything. It's not hard to grasp this type of job, but I'm glad you finally found something :3

Well drivers at our place do all the jobs really they are just the only ones to do deliveries. So the driving yeah anyone could do. But making the food, making the bread and cutting the stuff someone should teach you that kind of stuff. You cant just remember all sandwhiches on the first day and be able to make them all! XD I cant take orders fast either because i still dont know where all the buttons are yet. No wonder they had drivers who wouldnt even come back second day. Because they would throw them into everything without telling them absolutly anything not even what bottons did what on the headsets for drive thru xD

Yeah we teach our drivers that stuff too. Some have the aptitude and learn quickly then pick up the rest while watching. They don't have to do a lot though, only in emergencies do we have them cook.

Yeah well Im a driver and drivers at ours have to know how to do every job :/ which is kinda poop since i had to do drive through to learn when they had 3 people with headsets for drive thru at all times. Who have never been on the line. Then i was thrown onto the line to make subs and clubs and i had no idea what goes on what it was my second day! Then my trainer from monday got introuble for not teaching me how to do the phones. I was the only driver in the shop at time but i just couldnt answer the phone because they were having me do other people jobs while some people were just standing there.

aw thanks >w< yesterday was first day being a driver on my own (which i could have done first day it aint hard driving) but one guy -le gasp- gave me a whooole quarter as a tip xD

Better than some of our drivers get sometimes xD. We had to go back to a guy to give him a penny one time.

i was gonna say today sucked a guy my age didnt even give a tip at all! and i only had like 3 deliveries the whole daY! the drive through was the crazy one today. We need a crazy delivery day! xD

Lord! thank goodness it seems when its delivery they change the taxes very slightly where its an even ammount so we only take quarters with us. No nickles dimes or pennies. Lord what a jerk making u go all the way back to give him a whole dang penny. I bet if he walked outside in a 10 feet around him he would have just found a penny looooordie

That sounds really hectic. :L I hope they specified during interview / induction that you had to cover a wide range of roles despite being a driver, otherwise that's really bad if they didn't tell you by that point. It's just too short notice if you weren't expecting it. Regardless of whether you were not or was, I hope you can comfortably fit into your new job. :)

yeah they didnt tell me really anything. Today was my third day and i had to tell THEM that no one had even had me fill out any paperwork! That manager went wide eyed and was like wtf third day and they havent done anything?! and im like yep they havent even checked my DL i could have had an expired one for all they knew and ive been making deliveries for two days now! xD

They seem pretty hectic if they cant even remember to have me fill out paperwork and if they never trained anyone before and im the first experiementing person on training. I mean thats definitly the reason drivers would work one day and never come back! Because they were thrown into the mess of things! Like lord what if I had to start today! Today for like an hour I was doing 3 positions because so few people (beccause we dont get much business in the evening they dont have many working) and i was having to help make the subs/club, work the drive through AND run the phones for deliveries since i was the only driver after 4pm
