sillywerwolf I had amazing artistic talent.
So I could use it to create base porn and revolting fetishes.
Yeah. Thats whats it's for.

FA+

And feel bad at the same time.
Would you look at that...
we clearly don't have enough of that
In terms of an artist's journey, it's still a viable route. They're getting their work out there, and practicing, regardless of its illicit nature. They're connecting with other people and expanding their world view. It takes a lot of work and time to improve as an artist, regardless of if its fetish oriented or not.
You want to prove how amazing you can be? Fine. Work for it. But don't begrudge other artist's work just because it has that mature or adult tag on there.
I guess I (partially) deserve your response. This journal is painfully whiny sounding for a person such as myself.
But I'll refute. It's not the fact that it gets attention, but the sheer amount of attention fetish works in the furry culture get in comparison to everything else is overwhelming.
I think you've felt the sting of that too, Kyle. It seems to be the ONLY thing that people are interested in.
And if you do give in to the masses, you're confronted with another set of problems. A bitter ultimatum that leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth just thinking about it.
Either you create fetishes/porn and become objectified and cease value as a person to your audience,
or you dont conform and are almost completely ignored. And for a "open minded and welcoming " community as this culture is relentlessly touted to be, I'll have to call bullshit for 500 for that.
(I made this journal not long in the aftermath of an exchange with another person. He basically was complaining about no one valuing him or his art (he lived a fetish lifestyle). About his art I told him there are better who get even less, and the rest I said he brought such upon himself. I was almost instantly rejected and blocked. Tch.)
It goes much farther than a tag Kyle. It's the dysfunctional social structure of this website. That I feel the sting of even though I've hardly begun.
"Connections?' A little subjective here. Unless "OMG MURR IT"S SO HOT" etc etc.
And expanding the world view? Hah! No hope of that here.
You can only grow so much in a vise.
