Regarding prior journal: tags and thumbnails? And site stuff
9 years ago
Scribbling nonsense all across the board like jaguars leaping from trees of leather bodices encasing aged withered corpses whose eyes dazzle with the light of one million and three silver satellites flying over Los Angeles hiding illegal immigrants from Irish potato farms built atop the golden ruins of El Dorado filled with demonic Ewoks hurling tremendous tankards of tons of Tylenol at the panda bear ninjas that hide around every corner of the magic square building trying desperately to pull up its skirt and set roots on another cubic square inch of the board upon which I am scribbling nonsense.
In response to the previous journal I posted, I appreciate the feedback, and the understanding even from some viewers who aren't fond of all of the things I've been posting. The overall thing that I take away from it is that it's simply important to make sure that people know what they're getting into, not to have any unpleasant surprises popping out of nowhere. I thought that it might help if I had some more thumbnails to put on submissions - including images - and make them more detailed, just to have little blurbs to say what kinds of content are going to be involved. Only problem with this though is that I know it doesn't work for images unless you're looking at them on the front page of a gallery, not when it shows up in your message inbox, which is kind of the most important point. Does anyone think that it would still be worth going through this even with that limitation in place?
Also regarding the problems that have been plaguing the site as of late, I'm still not leaving FA anytime soon - mercifully I didn't lose my account - but given how things have deteriorated it's abundantly clear that one needs to have backups. I still have my tumblr that I never use http://nonuberis.tumblr.com/ but in the event that FA dies again and I haven't specified anything else I will probably be there with new content or updates.

It's mostly upto you, I definitely would if I wasn't too lazy to do it, (I put the warnings in the title of the image.), just so you can at least say you warned people properly.

I follow a simple rule of thumb. You do the best you can given the limitations of the site. To those who are still uncertain about an image or story's contents. They have a whole art description they can scroll down to on loading the page to see if it fits what they want to see before looking at it heavily. Its not YOUR fault if the website limitations prevent you from having 100% accuracy in protecting them. That is something for them to, for better or worse, take up with the staff for not getting fixed. Not you for being unable to modify the code in some magical way that prevents them from having to be exposed to what is essentially the free speech of your page to post and express whatever ideas you desire.
