~ Guidelines for Using My Art ~

Gave it a lot of thought, and got a bit of feedback from folks here, and there's really no reason to stop posting to FA at the moment. So those of you who like to follow my art here, you'll still see new stuff whenever I have things to upload.

I HAVE DISABLED NOTES ON FA. I've already moved my queue off of FA to Trello, and it's pretty clear I need to make sure I have a way to communicate with commissioners that isn't dependent on whether or not FurAffinity is having a bad day. I will no longer be using notes for art business. Being stuck unable to check on stuff for three days and not knowing if or when I would get access again really sucked.

*phew* I hate to see people fleeing left and right. and who's to say, FN or weasyl or DA will never be hacked in the future?

Yeah, I don't really have a problem using the site. It just makes me anxious to use it as a sole point of contact for commissions anymore, which is an easy enough thing to fix.

yeah, agreed, it's hard to understand why sites have private message systems when there's email. Except for the fact that the notes system has a level of anonymity. But I agree, emails work better for commissions.

It not about if, it about FA staff not even making the effort to take precautions to protect its membership and minimizing damage. There is a difference between breaking into a house that has its front door locked and breaking into a house that has it front door left wide open...

oh, they made efforts since IMVU took over. but you're right, there are many gaping holes certain people did nothing about the past decade or two. FA's "special" script might have not helped with that, either.
still you need someone willing to break in to begin with. and this time someone stole the source code and leaked it to hackers, probably at a furry con... talking about criminal intent? that's more than an angry kid hacking a vulnerable site, this is a real crime this time.

puting priority on rather pointless ads and easing furries into them is not exactly putting effort in protecting the membership nether is finaly putting in Folders and a comment editing button that literally every other art gallery host has had for years.
Of cource fixing FAs source code would not prevent all hacking but it would minimize the risk and make it harder to delete the entirety of FAs active session of content with the source code thru absolutly no work was done on that till after the fact, also unprofessional to only be backing up a site as frequented as FA in 7 Day encraments. And yes FA has been hacked in the the past former members of staff and the dev time have made that very clear, nothing was done to fix the holes that where used then

you seem to be sure that was all that was done to the FA site. why don't you go and fix everything if you are so sure you know what's to do?

and you you seem to think FA is angel and infallible in truth while it past activities even now show otherwise. Im not going fix the coding because im not a coder but that does not mean i dont now for a fact that fa has done nothing to properly protect its membership, and you now this Community has it self in part to blame for being stuck on a shity website, holding the attitude of ignorance rather then put ones foot down when something isnt satisfactory of cource the site wont change and drama will continue flowing, change/development does not come from doing nothing and not showing staff what is being done wrong or right.

PS: others have in the past offered to fix the coding but have been repeatedly turned down...

Yup, Skype is totally fine! I don't tend to do voice calls, but chatting via text is always okay.

Cool, good to know that. I still need to sort a few things out on my end, both life situations and ready characters, but hopefully next month I can finally get around to commissioning you again for art.
