An Old Fox's life
Man the life boats! God its raining and raining and raining. Been booming and lightening for hours now and the water just kept coming. I'm guessing right now 5 inches of it and much more east of my home. Its made the streets rivers and my backyard a lake. They warned people to stay at home and not drive around but well... People are total idiots. I am guessing at least 2 or 3 will drown here doing water crossings thinking their big 4-Wheel can handle the water. You cant fix stupid but Darwin can.
So here in Central Texas its water world and of course we have a tradition of floods on Memorial weekend. I've been through several events now. When in Austin my neighborhood flooded two times. My home never did it was the high spot. (Smiles reason I bought it) Still it never fails to amaze me that people can be so dumb. Back in my early years in Texas I used to race bicycles and the morning after a big storm our group was riding out of town and we came on a low water crossing with some darn fast water going over it. No police barricades but it was not to deep but it was moving fast. We wisely sat and took a drink from out water bottles and looked for a rout that would not be flooded. At that time some big burly bubba in a huge 4-wheel drove up and asked. "Why are you sissies not crossing the water?" he remarked. "Because its not safe." my friend Jack said. "Thats bull." He said and rolled up his window on the truck and drove into the water. He got almost half way across when his truck slid and then really started moving and went off the road and down into the rushing water.
He never did come up. Days later the crews found his truck way down the crick and he was still inside his cab drowned. Like I said you can't fix stupid only Darwin can....

Anyhow, it's good to know that you are safe at least. Perhaps fishing from your yard will be possible for a little while? :U

Not to much but still shes close to having it in her home.
