The past week or so I've been browsing around here on FurAffinity, faving and commenting on artwork, watching people and making new friends.
I've come across some really good artwork, some amazing artists, and many nice and friendly people.
But one thing I've realized; there are some really good artists out here in the fandom, with some really beautiful artwork. But very few have a decent amount of comments or favorites for their work! Now, these aren't just your average, quick little doodles on paper, but some are really detailed and vivid artwork!
And it amazed me. I don't know why, but it did. I also noticed that there are a lot of favorites and comments on images that revolve around nudity, sex scenes, and otherwise porn related ( most of it being gay guys - not many lesbians. Go figure ).
Maybe it's just me, but I'm sure many people have noticed this. Are there so many underaged teenagers on here with fake ages that have accounts just to see furry porn? I think so! That has to be the reason why there are a lot more favs and comments for porn, and more pageviews for artists who draw porn on a daily basis.
I know some people are probably thinking "Uh, DURR. That's why we are here, you dummy!" And I understand that :D I'm here to draw and view some furry porn from time-to-time too. And some of it is very nice, let me tell you! >;] But does that obsession, that addiction have to be the reason why good artists don't get the recognition they deserve? If it is, please! I'd like to hear your comment on this! <3
Give me a good point as to why people can't set aside their addiction to furry porn and embrace the real reason most of us are here: to share our artwork, learn new skills, maybe meet some new friends, and even make some money!
I challenge everyone who reads this journal to repost it anywhere they please! You can choose to credit me or not, I don't care. I just want to get my word out and possibly get some people to agree, so maybe one day, every teenager ( or even adult ) that has -or doesn't have- an account here, isn't completely here for the furry porn.
I know I'm not. Are you?

iv never fapped to pictures, and probably never will but i am a huge admirer of art, i spend about 70% of my days looking various pieces from a lot of places.
i fave a lot of porn on FA, because 9 times out of 10 its drawn better than regular stuff, the styles the poses the details the shading everything, i mean take a look at
but in all honesty, i just fave whoever has good art, porn or no, but there are so many talented artists that only draw porn, they outrank the normal ones, and since porn is more popular, they usaly get more commissions and more encouragement, meaning more porn
its sad but that's how it works
