I watched all of both of these cartoons within the past week.
They were both very very good and I definitely want more. >W<
This is actually pretty special, too, because while I love animation of all kinds, I generally stick to Anime and don't watch many Western Cartoons.
Episodic content is a fairly big turnoff for me. It doesn't always ruin a show completely, but I feel it usually detracts, and it's how most western cartoons are. Cowboy Bebop is a very popular anime, but the episodic-content-driven feel of it always bugged me lots so I could never get into it.
In any event, I definitely don't have many critiques for either show. I'm glad so many people recommended them to me, since they are both top-notch.
I pass those recommendations on to you! I think you should watch both of these shows!

I really liked the tone and aesthetic and themes from the little bit I saw!
The opening theme is also beautiful! :3
I don't really wanna SPOIL anything of it but I must say, its getting just better and better at the end~
And its sad that they only make 2 seasons of it :c

Anyways, glad you enjoyed those two! Huge fan of Rick & Morty; been meaning to try out Steven Universe for a while now. A lot of the sites I frequent are obsessed with the show, so I figure there must be something wonderful there.

On the same vein, i really liked gravity falls and currently likes 'wander over yonder', even if those 2 looks quite kiddy!
I hope you get around to Gravity Falls soon! I feel its perfection is only rivaled by Rick and Morty! You'll love Mabel so much! c:
And hmm. It isn't very episodic. I feel each episode advances either character(s) or plot in pretty meaningful ways. On the other hand, Yes it is true that most episodes have self-contained rising and falling story arcs. In that way: yes it is a rather episode-driven show.
