COMMISSIONS INFO http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2376575/
Ok... I'm herre trying to simultaneously work on commissions an arguing on FaceBook. The thing is that recently, I entered a cosplay group there. I don't cosplay but I MAY do it this year, as Rose Quartz from Steven Universe. The thing is that this guys posts a photo of an EXPECTACULAR cosplayer, as a female Goku. She has an AMAZING body, and this guys says that he thinks the cosplay would have been better if she'd had more defined abs and more muscles. And I'm like... WHAT!? And I just can't stay silent! XD So I reply to him, and I say that he can't critique on someone's body, to what he replies it's his opinon. HIS OPINION! And I'm like NO, you have NO RIGHT to have an opinion on someone's body, you can have an opinion and critize her cosplay, but NOT HER BODY. And he keeps saying that of course he can, that he can have an opinion. It seems that it's perfectly fine to bodyshame someone that is thin, because they are closer to the impossed beauty canons (¿¿¿???), because I'm sure if this cosplayer were fat and he'd say that she would have looked better being thin everyone would have jumped on his neck.
For some reason, I get SUPER nervous when I'm arguing with someone, I don't know if it's actually anger, I don't think so... I keep waiting for his reply and can't think about anything else! It also pains me that someone has so little empathy or that they don't really care at all. Like... Come one! REALLY!? You are also a cosplayer! You'd like me to say that you are too ugly, TOO STUPID, to cosplay as XXX character!?
GO FUCK YOURSELF!!!
I just want to finish my commissions and I can't seem to have a straight line until the 384053070873045 try! ARGH!
Ok... Off, sorry and thanks for reading...! ^_^U

Body shape should never be a factor whatsoever in cosplay. Heck, in anything for that matter.
He can have an opinion (as poor as it is), however he just needs to keep it to himself.
Chunky black woman doing Cloud Strife? Fine. Someone using an unpainted kneepad for his pauldron? Giving him a ginger afro? I'll criticise the hell out of those.
The attempt to inject social consciousness into a roll-playing game where every character --for the most part-- is bigger, better and more beautiful than life is futile. Besides, the anonymity of the internet guarantees that you have no idea who you're talking to. He could be a guy your age, or a 13 year old with an inferiority complex and a chip on his shoulder the size of a redwood.
Relax. He's only words on a screen. And if he's that fucked-up, you are unlikely to change him.
UPDATE: He went as far as to say that neither a POC should cosplay as Goku (in this example). FINALLY, moderators got notice of this, he's been banned.
However, if he was like, This person doesn't know a thing about cosplay, because she's trying to do it as a muscly guy, blah, blah, blah, (had a negative tone, in other words), then yes, he just might be a jerk.
There are just certain things you don't criticize when it comes to cosplay and I would think that cosplayers themselves would know that. >_<
