People arent jumping ship, there just posting "where to find me" journals if fa goes offline again and the low user count is caused by so many people being locked out of there accounts to do them having lost there old emails and or passwords for said emails.

Oh believe me, I'm the first one to subscribe to the idea of people only leaving FA temporarily because all the other sites are relative wastelands - it does however feel that more people feel a bit more serious about leaving FA this time. When your online passwords are under threat, things tend to get serious.

But we'll see. I'm continuing to use this site for the time being anyway!

Dragoneer said on his twitter that the passwords were safe if you changed them on the 18th of May. No data was stolen just a master delete of one of the databases, the reset was done just incase the troll still had access to boot him out. The password rumor was started on the FAF to do a bogus report and that thread was locked to do causing unneeded drama.

I'm not really leaving this place, but I decided to spread out more. I've always been active on Weasyl anyway, but now I began to look more into Inkbunny - with SoFurry possibly next. However I'm afraid I might not be getting into FN, as in at all. For the reasons you mentioned above. It could very well be that I might actually get behind what the heck is going on over there, but on the other hand I just can't be bothered. To me it looks like a triumph of visual design over usability.

I'm sure they would welcome constructive and specific suggestions on how to improve their interface. Nobody can work with things like "It sucks!" or "It's ugly!"

Weasyl, maybe? Inkbunny?

I'm not fan of Weasyl either - it's also got interface issues and the atmosphere has never felt particularly welcoming. Inkbunny on the other has found its own particular interest niche, which prevents it from cultivating much of a wider userbase.

TBH all the non-FA options are a series of less-than-adept alternatives.
