I upload png or jpg aND IT ALWAYS LOOKS TERRIBLE
I use sai, what format do you recommend i save my files under?

iv always done jpeg with no problems

Honestly it depends on the image. If its very image heavy (a lot of color/background/etc) you probably want to use jpeg
If its just a character drawing then png tends to work best
