I would very much appreciate being able to see your art here! I understand you being upset at how the site is run, especially you being an artist, but I personally have too many accounts already to try and follow artists on other sites. It's quite a chore to keep up with. My weasyl and inkbunny have gone untouched and not logged into for I don't even know how many months!

Yeah, it would still be unfair against others to expect them to follow me here and there all the time. And you are right, I am still anything but satisfied with the site's maintenance.

And this is partly why so many artists had a hard time moving to another site and still do. Artists won't move because watchers won't move, watchers won't move because it is a lot of work, when it is far more work for an artists to move, especially if the site does not have an import feature.

Artists have it much worse than a watcher would. Yeah it sucks, but it sucks more that artists have to maintain multiple sites just to reach their full audience.

I'm not saying that it's harder. It is, however, an inconvenience that I'm not willing to make. Especially as somebody that has about 400 submissions on this site. That's a lot of stuff to move over to maintain yet another furry page.

Sorry that it's tough for the artists, I get it. They can head out if they want, but I won't be following.

Well the nice thing is that FN has a really nice transfer program which will do all the heavy lifting for you. you just have to approve them in the order that you want them in, and it can transfer your watches and avatar and a lot of other info. Sadly with places like Weasyl it is more of you have to use their cross poster which is done one submission at a time, but it still does a lot of heavy lifting for you.

It would also be a good opportunity to kind of pick the best of the best of your piece and make a clean start.

Also you could still use this site as a posting site and other for simply watching artists, that is what IB has turned into me.

I guess that's what I want to happen more or less. My biggest issue is following artists all over the place. I have to go to inkbunny for some, weasyl for some, furaffinity for some, etc etc. Transferring my own stuff over, even if I had to do it manually, would be quite agreeable if everyone was in one spot. It's nice to have FurAffinity where most people at least crosspost their stuff as the groups of artists on the other sites are smaller and often go ignored because I don't check them as regularly.

Thanks for the heads up on the transfer feature, though! I might take a look into that.

Well and that has been the Catch 22 since Weasyl was made, a lot of artists liked it, but a lot of watchers did not or simply refused to move, so....if artists are reliant on money and cannot bring their followers with because the larger artists are divided one staying or going and most stay for fear of losing money/watches, so a lot of those that wanted to move could no longer do so.

I just like FA's UI. It's the main reason why I don't move.

I don't chase artists anymore; I've been playing that game for almost 20 years, and I'm tired of it. Unfortunately, all the most popular sites seem to have their own host of inconvenient problems under the rug that their communities aren't exactly partial to discussing. Other people have different reasons, but the reason I came here was because other people already set up camp here and anyway, there aren't exactly stellar alternatives that I know of. Wherever you post your art, if and when you choose to share it with us, I hope you never stop producing.
