Out of curiosity: what is a good price to sell a character a
9 years ago
So a while back i saw a character being sold for deveral hundred dollars.
Made me think. What is in that price? What is the price made of.
Also what is a ok sum to ask for a reference sheet abd "rigjt to use the character and call it mine"?
and how ok is it to add a lot to the price if he or she comes with art the new buyer did not comission, does not want or does not feel for?
Plus i seen some adding to the price because the character is dear to them. Or add a lot because they hsve a lot of art.
Sounds a little like i would add to the price of the car i had. Peugeot 205 from 1985. Old, and according to sone artists here i would be ok adding the amount of money used ob the car (too much) plus more price since i liked the car.
Hmm
Just ponderations.
Yes the two turians i bought a shiort ago. Their ref alone would be worth askibg price .
Any opinions on pricing of adoptables or selling their character for some reason?

And yes, some people up the price if the character comes with art pieces, which is understandable, it's more art of said character, and they had paid for it, and will now lose the right to that character and thus make that money spent worthless, unless they can cash back a little through what someone will pay to own the character. Personally, I don't usually like the prior commissioned pieces with a character as I might not like to whore out the character like some would have already done.
Sometimes the character is from a closed species, and a popular kind too, which also adds value for people wanting to get a hold of one from that species.
A new character being sold as an adoptable can be around 10-50 depending on the amount of time an artist has put into the adopt.
In your case where the adopt was like 700 or something, it was most likely an auction, it may have started cheap but due to popularity of the character people bid more,
Tbh i think its a bit dumb to spend that much on a character, just so you canspend more money getting art of said character.
In summary about 30? Is a good start point
