I feel that as the artist, since you're offering something for free, unless there are other parties involved, you should be the one who makes the choice. It's your time and effort, and whoever is chosen is getting effort put into a character for free.

Now, that doesn't mean I don't like the first come/first serve rush as someone who likes free stuff, but I think in the end, the quality of the picture will be higher since it will be *you* who wants to do it.

Thank you for your insight! I see what you mean about my choice in the matter. I'll keep an eye on the poll still, but I'll take what you said into consideration. I do like choosing who I like to do, but sometimes I have a tendency to choose ones that do not give me a challenge ^^ I guess I'll see how things play out!

If you really want a challenge, you can purposefully do so! That's part of the great part of choice. Whenever a YCH is pretty low (<20), I'll let the artist choose which of my characters they'd like to do. Even with the one you had me do, you had about half a dozen choices

I think either doing a raffle or you choosing yourself are both good options. I voted that you decide the winner so you can pick something that you know you can handle skill-wise, or choose to challenge yourself. :>
