well that would come into conflict with people who have open carry licenses. Wherever they go they'll have the cops called on them if they bring their gun that's withing their legal right to own.

Some teenager is actually developing guns with fingerprint sensors so only the owner can unlock it, like and additional safety, but the RFID chip is a good idea, but it is also a bit more intrusive as it doesn't identify what someone's intent is.

It'll make cops intervent faster yes but it will not stop a psycopath to do is mass murder. Will be still the case with the stupid idea of Trump to put guns in public areas, it will just help anyone without any preparation to kill his targets for psycopaths or it will turn all domestic conflict from simple agression verbal or physic to a murder because there was a gun nxt to them.

Except it would be trivially easy to defeat it. RFID tags are basically small computers attached to a large antenna.

Three ways to disable them:

1. Large RF pulse (microwave oven works just fine).
2. Crush the actual chip or cut the antenna coil.
3. Put the gun in a metal foil bag (like passport or credit card shields).

The fingerprint thing is cool - except what are you trying to actually stop? If you buy a handgun with a fingerprint lock, I'll just go buy one without it. It stops me from using your gun (maybe) but it doesn't stop me from buying A gun and shooting people with it.

1) Assault weapon is as far as I know a political misnomer, deliberately constructed to have negative connotations and play on fear and ignorance. Anything can be a weapon, assault is an action not a thing. Assault rifle is inaccurate, semi-automatic rifle is correct.

2) He also had 2 handguns, I have yet to see attribution of how much each was used.

3) This guy had a history of expressing radical and violent wishes, was abusive, was interviewed by the FBI twice... and still managed to have a job with a security contractor, complete with special licenses to purchase weapons and equipment that your average citizen cannot get (you know, like banned stuff)? The anger and lawsuits need to be directed at the security company and the government for doing a suck job, not the gun industry and place that sold it as some will doubtless call for.

4) I recall someone else that posted on a news board's comments, wondering if the CDC was so eager to study gun violence problems, when they were going to study human violence problems? Because, you know, the gun doesn't fire itself and there's a lot of other, more utilized methods that people kill each other with.
