Lost my Job Again - No going back this time
9 years ago
I haven't been too vocal about it. I lost my job Wednesday of last week. This is the same job I lost back in November and gained back a week later when the owner came to the realization that he made a terrible mistake and couldn't run the company without me. After that, I never felt good about being there and never again trusted the owner. So, the week after I get back from my vacation to the UK he tells me that the company is going through a restructuring. My take away on this is that he's after cheap labor, and doesn't see the point in having an Operations Manager when it's less expensive not to have one and to offload some of the admin stuff on the lesser paid employees.
Anyway, what is done is done, and frankly, I'm glad to be done with this company. I loathed going there every day. If the owner turned around again and told me he'd made another mistake and asked me back... well... I wouldn't come back. Maybe as a contractor for twice my salary as before, but I'd really have to think on it. At this point, I just want to move on.
The past six months I have been working on project manager certification courses. Now that my schedule has been freed up, I should be able to finish the courses and take the final exam within 2 weeks. From there, I'm going to contact a bunch of agencies and work on finding a job in management somewhere. I'm a little scared every now and then. But overall, I'm okay. I'm doing the course work eight hours a day and relaxing in the evenings. I have a plan and I'm going to execute that plan, get the certification I'm after, and then move forward and be happy.

Six months of searching? What job did you finally end up with?
But, that's neither here nor there. As far as I'm concerned, with all that you've done within not just your job, but also for MNfurs and the community as a whole, I'm sure you'll have no issues in obtaining gainful employment again. Maybe even a pay bump if you find the right place. :3
My job canceled my interview twice so I'm still waiting.
Stay in touch *hugs*
