Still Alive

I should have warned you guys right off the bat about this: I won't be doing a whole lot of journaling here. It's nothing personal, it's just that I do all my blogging over at my Red vs Blue page, and I hate to repeat myself. So, just like my DA journal, I'm only going to use this journal for things that directly effect my activities here on FA.
With that being said, something happened recently that directly affected my activities here at FA: MY BODY TRIED TO DIE!
It all started April 29th, when I got a pretty nasty tummy ache. It hurt a bit, but I figured it was nothing I couldn't handle so I went about my business as usual thinking the pain would go away on it's own. It didn't.
On the 30th things got worse. Not only was I in pain, but I was also running a fever and puking my guts out. And then I realized that I couldn't poop. That was the last straw. I had to go to the emergency room.
That night after some questioning, CT scans, and about ten failed attempts to find a goddamned vein for the IV, the doctor tells me that I've been hobbling around for the past couple of days with a ruptured appendix. Not only that, but since I waited so long to get treated the surrounding guts all got infected and had swollen to the point that they had pretty much shut down. I needed surgery right away.
I guess "right away" in doctor speak means the next morning because I went under the knife at 6:30 AM on May 1st. The operation lasted about three hours and went off without a hitch, but I wasn't out of the woods yet. The offending appendix was gone, but there was still the matter of the infection to deal with. The only treatment? Antibiotics and waiting. Lots and lots of waiting. Also a horrible tube jutting out of my gut to drain all the septic sludge my infected guts kept making. And one more to go up my nose and into my stomach to pump more sickening goo out of me.
I was in there for nine days, and for those nine days I did nothing but watch TV and occasionally putz around the hallways because I was forbidden to do anything else by my doctor. "Anything else" included things eating and drinking. Sleeping was allowed but honestly, who can sleep in a noisy hospital with nurses taking your blood pressure and such every few hours?
Even after I was released back into the wild, wasn't able to do much except take it easy while my new scar healed. I tried to use my newfound free time away from work and school to catch up on my trades, but I couldn't sit comfortably at my desk. So that explains why I've been so slow at getting those done....yeah, that's the ticket. It certainly had nothing to do with Halo Wars, Animal Crossing, and Fable 2.
All that is in the past now. I'm feelin' 100% again and have returned to business as usual. All that's left now is the bill.
Have I mentioned that I do commissions?

Why on Earth did you wait so long to go to the hospital? If i had a tummy ache for over a week i would've set an appointment.
Good to have you back. ...now get to work. 8D
