My unjust occurence with a commission.

Thee Marshmallow lizard hath speaketh! _________________________________________
So I'm in this fandom/community because I love gay anthro, creature sex
I'm glad to have so many followers like the 3D content I make and the things I commission!
I've done what I can to make and show the internet what kind of butts I enjoy and I don't plan to stop anytime soon!
Razuul's butt (my beloved oc) being one of them.
Razuul is an albino argonian with unique magical properties he was born with in which I will soon be explaining in a story of him.
Of course I made him to look sexy and attractive. The ideas I come up with are rather pleasing in the outcome.
Now I don't call out specific people. But I will explain my experience I had with a certain artist whom I will not name.
I commissioned an artist to do Razuul in a very sexy and erotic pose for me that I'm sure you butt lovers out there would enjoy.
Unfortunately the artist declined my commission because I asked for too many changes once they showed me the sketch... I simply asked to make the butt, balls, and cock to be bigger in the scene. Something that would only take a literal minute or 2.
What more is the artist I commissioned didn't even take any action, their partner did. The changes I asked for wouldn't even affect the artist I commissioned since their partner was the one that does the start of the commission process.
Why the artist rejected my request to the changes of the commission is beyond me when they wouldn't even be doing those changes...
After my commission was declined the artist told me that my sketch will be used for a YCH instead of being my actual commission that I paid for.
I was refunded and left with no answers as to why the artist did this to me and decided to use the image of what would have been Razuul.
More so that the artist would use the image to their gain via YCH.
In short, the image of Razuul that I wanted was finished by other means.
Which of course the artist who declined my commission noticed and told me to take down the image since they were going to use it for their YCH.
In short, the conflict didn't last and in the end the image stayed up for you lovelies to enjoy and oogle at.
The artist that declined my commission ended up doing the YCH anyway.
So if you guys see a noticeably big resemblance between a YCH image and a certain picture of my Razuul oc. This is the story why.
I do have proof and images to show that I am not making this up and unless needing to show it otherwise it will stay incognito for the time being.
This wasn't fair for the artist to do this to me and why they did it I'll likely never know since both the artist and their partner blocked me presumably just to spite me.
I will keep commissioning lovely artists erotic, sexy scenes as I will also be doing more erotic 3D as well.
This doesn't stop anything from me and likely just letting you lovelies know about what truly happened if the artist goes out saying otherwise.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I'm kind of neutral towards Gabe's art, because some of his butts are really good, but one or two of them have had unevenly-sized cheeks that were -very- noticeable, which is honestly unacceptable. Also, more than a few of the backgrounds he does don't really look that good. I get they're not the main focus, but...when a background is at less than a quarter the quality of the rest of the piece, it's jarring and brings the whole thing down quality-wise.
As for whoever artist refused to make any changes, that is honestly hard for me to judge, because it'd depend on the change in size and how far along the sketch was how long that'd take. If it was just the size, and at the -very- basic roughing, then yes, it'd only take a minute or two to transform it. But if the sketch was completely finished, those changes could potentially impact the entire sketch. However, they'd still likely be easy enough to fix that there'd be no point in making a huge fuss, especially if it was -just- the size.
very simple size changes.
My question now is why exactly you'd ever commission someone who can't sketch their own crap to ink someone elses' sketch? That just doesn't make sense to me in the first place. Just saying.
They've done previous work for me before that wasn't as bad.
But lately I've been hearing other people tell me that they've been giving a bunch of other people problems.
You'll know what the image is when you see a YCH looking a lot like a Razuul pic of mine.
I have no problems with him.
it's a DIFFERENT ARTIST!
and it is quite fucked up.
You'll know who it is when you see a YCH image that looks a lot like a picture of my Razuul
I wish it could have been a better ending.
if only the artist didn't get greedy...
and thank you!
you know you're free to offer me ideas and suggestions.
just don't be afraid to bite! or lick? aha, like a lick"er"
ahaha! ahaaaaa....
*erhm*
I'll shutup now...
I'll give ya a "lick" XD
He hasn't cursed me out even when we had difficulties with a commission.
Edit: I agree with Harley, not only because he speaks the truth, but because I have my own little beef with the artist.
Everyone else above seems to think so.
I think I know who you might be referring to but I won't name anyone publicly.
You'll know through add resemblance with a pic of mine towards a YCH
You can see the spite in them since they didn't get to have their way with my commission turned to YCH.
also considering that they blocked me too. lol
Never ran into the problem you describe tho, where the artist decides to do an YCH auction off the sketch. I've heard of such problems happening before and it just seems really dickish thing to do. I have had a fursuit maker use my character as a blank to build upon; after the deal fell through, but never with art. Hope this ain't a growing trend, where artists recycle their unfinished pictures for more money... at least not ones they themselves have ended up cancelling.
Cause my commission price was around 60-80 (can't remember for sure)
but now the artist is earning 160 because of it...
So far, all artwork of my characters I have in my gallery has been art I've won in raffles or gifted to me. Are there changes I would ask of the artists? Of course. But I don't because they're kind enough to do it for free and I love to see artists interpretation of my characters from my descriptions and existing pictures. Really the only requested change I've made is to make my tigers scar more visible. When they ask a bout the stripes on my tiger character I tell them to do them any way they want, sort of like a Rorschach test. And I've loved each one and been very happy and satisfied with their creations.
The only reason I haven't commissioned anyone is I haven't had the money, being out of work for over a year. Now that I've finally found a job and will be getting an income again soon, I look forward to commissioning artists to do my characters. Fortunately I'm friends with a few good artists here who I trust, but I still worry about trouble when doing a commission. I guess I'll have to carefully check around, even check with people for good recommendations on artists. Maybe I'll even bug you about recommendations on artists :)
I've never had any problems with any artists whatsoever.
Up until I ran into a "certain" artist that I won't name publicly.
I'll be sure to direct you the right way and how to set up a commission with less problems possible.
I know exactly which artist you are talking about who scammed you, sadly. I'm sorry, but I will never do business with him/them ever again either. I had a bad experience with said artist(s) myself. A***s and C*****o hosted a contest in May, and it was a character design contest. When I entered into it with my character, they did three f***ing bulls*** things that REALLY pissed me off:
1: As I asked a question to the artist about how the contest would work and be judged/his preferences, and he already gave his preset opinions, despite it being a open contest. He said, "I will choose the one of three that "I LIKE THE MOST" with the best *this and that*, and that has the simplest design". In other words...he is choosing which ever gets him though it the easiest, with the least amount of work, regardless of which is the best of the three. He told me, "Oh, I don't like those things very much and those colors are bad, blah blah." And even worse, he set the contest so that if you get 1st place, even with votes, he could still choose the 3rd place spot and ONLY award them, and the 1st place winner gets less/nothing. Absolute BS scam.
2: Previous winners/runner-ups were allowed to keep running in the contest. Prior to this contest, the winner of the very first one A****s hosted went and allowed his partner *the one you commissioned recently* to participate again...and WIN yet again! He was set to get awarded a 2nd time, but the community fumed, and A****s dropped his partner out of it. If you have seen any big contests, they NEVER ever let past winners run again. That is dirt cheap and unfair. Especially your own partner.
3: Now...THIS one drove me off the cliff. Absolutely insane. In the same contest as #1 up above, I asked A****s when the deadline was...as it was only listed as May 29th or something. And when I asked, he said, "only a few hours from now". He listed NOTHING about the exact deadline. It was 10:30pm, 90 minutes before the deadline, according to different timezones...and out of nowhere...at 10:37pm...he ended it!! Seriously!? Are you kidding me? What kind of contest has no set deadline and ends in the middle of the hour randomly? Insane. And since he ended it so randomly, I was literally on the upload screen finishing putting tags in, I was dropped from the contest...all the work...for NOTHING! That was the last straw. Never again. Worst contests ever. No idea what he is doing.
I understand you are trying to move past this by not mentioning the names of the artists involved, but if they blocked you, you should to call them out. They scammed you. I was scammed too. If you don't do so, I will probably do so myself. They need to learn how to be fair and interact properly with the community.
Their contests are broken as all hell which I never bothered to do since I knew they would just be causing problems.
PM me, I want to hear more of this.
I was left with no answers as to why the artist cancelled my commission in the first place and wanted to use my commission for their gain. I can only assume but it was likely for their own gain and profit. I can't see it any other way.
I chose another artist to finish it because it was a good commission that was cancelled for no reason in which the artist likely wanted to make more profit off of.
It'd be one thing if it was cancelled and you sent the general idea to another artist, and yeah it may come out similarly. But to take the sketch and have another artist paid to finish it without asking and/or compensating the sketch artist for their time/work isn't very cool either. Sounds like both of you were in the wrong on this one and both handled it poorly. Oh well, lessons for the future maybe.
That doesn't make the artist look good for business and leaves the commissioner likely pissed or confused. Maybe both.
It also isn't the first they've caused problems either from what others have told me about them.
The dispute about using the sketch without permission was handled with the artist that actually drew it.
Not the one that cancelled my commission. You'll know from an image I credit the real artist for drawing the sketch.
It's more or less for their sake.
As much as I hated what they did to me it's not really in my nature to call out a specific artist or person unless they did something extremely bad.
Plus I'm sure people can notice when two pictures look alike. If they ever wonder why? This journal explains it.
The event it happens is based off of many different things like their contests, ych's, commissions, all that sort of stuff.
Granted, the artist didn't like the changes I requested for whatever the hell their reason was but it seems likely that in my case the artist just wasn't wanting to ask their buddy to do my simple changes.
Has it happened to other people? Probably, but I have yet to hear another story related to mine.
Point being, they give a lot of people many different problems and not just "doesn't like doing changes" specifically from what I've heard about them so far.
Just a whole lot of different types of drama from what others are telling me, lol
