On the EU Referendum

When I was a kid, Mum drove me and my sister around Europe in a camper van. We explored from the north coast of France to the Greek Peliponise. It was a really special adventure and it taught me that our neighbours aren't to be feared, that they aren't out to get our jobs. They are normal people like, just like us. I made friends, shared cultures and felt as much at home in rural Italy as I felt at home in rural Wales.
But that's all gone now. Lost. It has been destroyed by intolerance, xenophobia, ignorance, hate, lies and a political elite who decided that the best way to decide who would be the next prime minister would be by wagering the future of the country. I was angry. Now I'm just numb. Hopefully I will wake up tomorrow and it will all be a bad dream.

also don't tell me about the average citizen having no say in policies. do you even know what the European Council is? it's literally the heads of state of every EU country. not separate politicians, but the political leaders WE vote for in our OWN political systems. and then there is the European Parliament which we vote for MEPs in directly. so when decisions have to go through BOTH the Council and the Parliament please tell me how we don't have any say? in fact policies only get through the European bodies if there is a LOT of consensus.
And tbh, i really don't care what difference is. I'm more concerned about what an utter joke the US political system since i live here and that it is actively fucking me over. There literally no correlation in the policies that American people want and the policies passed by congress, so it wouldn't surprise me that the average EU citizen has just as little say in EU policies.
YouTube pundits on the whole are jokes. Just because someone is good at building a narrative it doesn't mean they are any kind of authority on anything
Sargon believes in a number of conspiracy theories about the EU that have been shown to be false, such as the idea that we would be forced into an EU army
Also, with respect to "such a British mentality", I hope you've known me long enough to know that I'm not like most Brits.
