Soooooo I have been silently lurking on here and at least checking my new submissions/favorite-ing things for a while now, but I am going to perhaps....try to start posting some of my own art I get done on here again too. That is if I have the time around working and other life events as well. Sometimes I get crazy busy or life decides it's time for me to suffer greatly :D

Usually I just can't seem to finish things in a timely manner or I hate my own drawings too much to want to post them up. Do all artists hate what they do?? I have that problem really bad it seems....it is....unfortunate. That being said, I really do appreciate anyone's support through friendly comments or reviews on my art, even the tiniest stuff! Keep letting me know what you think and I might start finding my drive again.

Lol yeah I figured, I think mine is just like......beyoooond severe at times and I hate it. It can even depress me pretty badly. DX

Mine is severe enough that...I used to draw, but never got any feedback on anything I created, positive or negative. Throwing free art and sketches out into the void with absolutely no feedback (most I ever got was a couple "Hey, thanks!" but no hate/love it's) I started having trouble getting to the initial drawing phase...I hated my work before I ever even started it.

Omg that is awful, I can't believe no one would say anything! I am sorry, I usually go crazy with comments on the art I get. I have received some feedback at least myself, but I do feel your pain in that too. I used to give out a lot of free art because my commissions never did so hot compared to most others. I can look at other people's art and get depressed knowing mine isn't as good so sometimes I don't bother getting started with anything. :(

Personally, I tend to get sauced-up before drawing. Alcohol focuses my mind, cuts all the frayed ends that distract me. Gimme some Kraken and a pencil, put some paper in front of me and step away.

LOL! Oh man, that's crazy, idk if I could drink and draw myself, usually I can't focus even more so and I am stuck just giggling and staring at the walls if not passing out asleep first.

Booze is a strange drug, does different things to different people. I know what you mean. But with me, it focuses me. Everything grinds to a halt, piles into one train down one straight track. It can backfire. One time I got hammered to do a story commission and ended up spending 6 hours cleaning the apartment. Whatever I am doing takes priority, I could spend hours organizing M&M by color if I was drunk.

Hahah that sounds pretty cool in a way, wish it worked for me like that because it does very much the opposite. XD I would probably end up drinking a LOT if it did focus me though.

Ever try Binaural audio? It's...got a pretty low success rate but some artist friends I know use it and it tends to help them relax, focus. Here's a YouTube channel full of them for you to poke around if you ever get bored and want to try. Just make sure you have decent headphones.

Hmmmm, I have not heard of this at all, but honestly when I draw I am almost always listening to music. Some of which on my playlists are movie soundtracks and peaceful instrumental stuff already. I might give this a listen to the next time I draw then, see where it gets me....or do like you do and force myself to believe in it! :) Thank you very much for the suggestion

LOL, that is kinda how I am at times....I start something I think is good, get distracted and see someone else's art then go back to mine like "welp, this is utter shit!" and don't finish it XD
