AC con report!
Okay, I'll do a good/bad thing before each thing so one can focus on what you want
The drive
Bad: 13 hours, and I didn't know I had cruise control until like... almost all the way there, my right foot was getting a bit pained from it. YAY I'm weak
Good: Was actually rather quiet and relaxing besides. Thank god my car's AC works like a boss and it's super gas efficient, I made it to there on ~$30 in gas.
Good: I saw lots of baby goats! at the gas station I went to there was a goat milk dairy truck with tons of cute goats and the two women drivers took them out 2 at a time (I think 8 were total) to let them walk around the field a little bit before switching them out.
Thursday in Pittsburg!
Bad: Unfortunately I was given directions to the wrong Wyndham hotel. Everyone in the University wyndham area were complete assholes. I asked the receptionist if there was a gateway parking lot nearby because that's what I was supposed to be parked in, they said there was no gateway parking lot (2 guys) and when I figured it wasn't the right wyndham because the room number I had been given didn't exist, I tried to ask them and other people if there were more than 1 wyndhams in the area (there's 3) and I got "I don't know" from a lot of people but the receptionists both claimed there were no other wyndhams. So then I remembered that the con is by the WEstin so I asked if they could tell me where the westin was and they told me there was no westin within an hour from there. I probably gave a sigh of complication and turned around and i heard one of them say "What's with the attitude?" and I'm just like, really? Up till that, I was nice, they were being assholes and I actually would have HAD a reason for attitude, yet they were the ones giving me it from the getgo. After being a bit frustrated further with trying to figure things out by texting people..
Good: A lady comes by, sees me opening my trunk and some of the art stuff and suitcases she asks "ARe you one of those furries?" and I said yeah, she said "My son and his boyfriend are at the con now, I'm dropping off their costumes. If you want, you can follow me down there." So, one nice person and I finally made it to the con area of pittsburg :D
Bad unfortunately way too late, as it had just turned 10:00 so I couldn't get my badge early.
Good: So instead I just went sight seeing which I had planned to do earlier if I hadn't been wasting 3 hours trying to figure out where I was. Damn not having an internet phone :p It was pretty cool. Got to meet
soba and later
azureparagon and also met up with
Mortis_kull
Friday!
Bad because of what happened thursday I had to wait in line for a badge, but it seemed they had very little idea of what to do some of the times and computer errors and them sending me to the wrong lines and pronouncing "Cyran"(Sigh- ran) as "cran" (like CRAN berries) made it a few hours of really hot torture and by the time I could get to the artist alley for the wait list, it was already really long. So no table for friday.
Good! Went to a restaurant with some friends from KC who arrived by plane called Wingharts. $8 hamburger, but holy fuck was it good. Filling too so it wasn't TOO expensive for the comparison. Did more sight seeing, bought 2 commissions. One from
Gnaw and the other artist I can't remember her FA name.
However since we can't do commissions in the zoo, I was just working on some art for self and then did some freebie art. Hung out more with
Mortis_kull and got to meet
BGN in the flesh for the first time. I showed off a sculpture of Brahm (I need to take better pictures of) with a big shiny poser trunk bulge >:3c lots of people liked it.
Saturday!
Bad I waited the whole day for a table at AC, I was in the waiting list from the early day, I kept checking with them since there were tons of empty tables. PArt of what they were doing this year was texting people when their 'table' was ready. I kept asking about the empty tables ans they kept saying that the people who were next in line were coming to claim them. Almost a whole row of tables went unclaimed for most of the day. I finally received the text that said my table was ready... at 5:15 (I still have the text if I can figure out how to scan/send screencaps or some shit to here I would) which is already after it closed. so that's 2 days of no commission stuffs :< Whatever system they're using for this con reservation is NOT working and needs to be changed. I'm tempted to write the con staff over it as this wasn't happening to just me.
Good so I bought some comics from
furious and
karmakat . Did even more sight seeing, got to talking to an amazing digital artist [iconuser:dragonnis] who everyone should go commission now. Also very helpful. I got to meet BRIEFLY
drekhan
Sabrewing
croup
damaratus and also got to see
draganta who I've not spoken to in 6 years :oc nostaaalgia.
So more hanging out in the zoo after hours, more drawings for self, more free drawings for some other people.
SUNDAY!!
Bad It was coming to an end T-T also I had to pay the parking fee...BAH I hate spending money on things like that.
good I made $165 for only a few hours of work once I finally managed to get a table ( I was not among the first for a table) and for it being about 3 hours I think that's damned fantastic. I also got to meet
Atung231 who I loved his characters for a long time and despite not having business cards a LOT of people adding my FA to their watchlist (lots of people writing it down, I check my inbox for how much my watched by list went up over 50 in one day so yay \o/ Did some more drawing in the zoo, a few free sketches for other people, went to dinner at a chinese buffet with
Soba which was delicious. Although I wish I had more friend that would have done the whole gay as fuck CUDDLE ME thing :p I was pretty untouched this con, then again I didn't really know anyone on a more personal level this con.
Monday.
Bad it's over :<
Good Two of the people who went to AC by plane that live in KC like me were supposed to leave sunday morning, but they didn't want to so they asked if I'd drive them back. Great! So they cancelled their tickets, managed to fit all of our stuff in a YARIS (it's larger on the inside than it looks on the outside) and Erin (one of my friends from KC before her involvement into furry that was NOT forced on by me, but by her bf) managed to move the stuff in the back to make a nest to sleep/read in for nearly 8 hours of the trip. Spoke to her Bf for a good while during the trip back and it made the time fly. The gas going back was a bit higher (~$45), but I equate that to all the going uphill we had to do and the SLIGHTLY bit extra weight the car had to pull with them and their stuff. I finally ate at white castle after so many years because the last time I remembered it tasting like death when I was 6 years old and since then all the white castles in KC were moved. they weren't as bad as I remembered, but not GREAt either. but hey, experiences!
Overall Good I'm feeling a lot more motivated to try some things again.

Zak
me: I know of you. I don't know if you know me, but *friend gave me change from a $20 I let her borrow and said thanks, to my left, but while still looking at him I said "Your welcome"
And he gave this look at me and I'm just like D: omg does he think I'm a narcissistic fucktwat? guuuuuh, not sure whether or not to try rectifying that faux pas.
