Character management tips please?
Okay, so one of my current WIP stories is a werewolf plot taking place in modern times, as opposed to the space western/opera style stories I prefer to write. In my preferred medium, it's pretty easy to limit the number of important/named characters for any particular scene, and by extension less I have to keep track of. Also, since they're all various species so it's easier to keep track of who is who in my head.
Whereas with the werewolves I may need several in any particular scene and if there's transformations I have to keep track of who is transformed as well, and whatnot, and oh yes, they're all the same species, and interact heavily with a species where one of their forms is identical to them.
So...does anyone have any suggestions on character management?

start a storyboard with how they start a scene, who if anyone transforms and how they leave the scene. While 'writing' it, you might use different colors on the names to remember 'how' they are. like black for regular text, blue they're in human form, green they're were.
