The motor spins, but I didn't try it with it connected to the chopper. I'm not putting it back together until it's painted properly.

Sweet! Keep in mind that it's probably illegal to attach that to your car, wherever you live I'd check the local laws before hooking it to your vehicle. I have an old boat siren that goes "WAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHhhhh" that's pretty cool.

I already have hideaway strobes in my taillights and amber turnlights up front, headlight flashers, and a 100watt electronic police siren installed. When I was in California, I showed it to a CHP and he said it was cool as long as I didn't do stupid things.

Now I'm in Texas though but I don't think there are any laws against what you install in your vehicle, just how you use them. I didn't really plan on putting this on my car though, since it would be hidden. If I had a truck or something maybe.

Lol. I guess as long as it's not mentioned specifically in the transportation code and you don't try to pull people over you can get away with it. It varies by state, really.

Yeah I'm crazy, not stupid as Keanu Reeves would say. I never had the thought of using this to scare people or stop people in my mind as a reason for doing all that to my car. I do it because I'm a geek, I like flashing lights like moths like fire. I also do lights for theatre whenever I can (which has been too long, sadly )

It's so tempting though. I used to work in law enforcement and occasionally would drive around in marked and unmarked cars. There's that button RIGHT THERE that makes everybody get the hell out of your way, and all you have to do is push it... I'd end up doing something stupid.

The only time I ever used the electric siren was on the open road when no other cars were in sight, but I did use it once or twice to beep a friend . I actually did use the strobes back when I delivered pizza, but only after the car was parked.

One feature of the electric siren I really liked was the simulated air horn, switched into my regular horn (like the install manual says). LOL I had it hooked up at one point where my car alarm would activate the strobes and 'fast wail' of the siren, with a bunch of relays and connections directly to the siren PCB. Sadly the siren died for unknown reasons and now I have a nice 100watt speaker doing lots of nothing. Stupid Star Systems.

LOL! That was my thought. Instead of shrugging it off, you have this ear piercingly loud sound that actually /does/ get peoples attention. I was careful to turn the sensetivity of the impact detection thing to minimum to reduce false alarms. It still went off once, and woke me up even though the car was around 400 feet away.
